Father, You are good, there is none like Thee. Thank You for all You saying concerning us Thank You for Your voice that speaketh goodness and blessings in our lives and situations. Thank Lord for loving and caring for us, let glory and honour be given to Thee alone in Jesus Name.

Beloveth, it is a prayer time. Often times we easily tried out when it is prayer time, than any other program in the world. If we cannot escape the prayer session, some mere observe it while some buy and sell while prayers are going on.

The devil knows what power you will be clothed with when you meaningfully seek the face of God in prayer. He knew that you will be a life-wire ready to execute every false doctrine and lies that comes from the pit of hell, so he fights it with every distraction that can catch your attention. Ranging from your favorite program to phone calls and every other thing that can catch your attention.

If he doesn’t get you through those mentioned above, watch out for the distraction from a wayward child, unfaithful spouse or wicked boss betrayer from a beloved one. But you must have a large heart to love God and so avoid the pitfall.

So what should a child of God do having known the entice of the devil. We must as a matter of fact live as Jesus instructed us to live. Live a life of intercession (Lk 18:1). So many usually have a misconception of the word ‘’intercession’’ they think is praying for others rather than being in a prayerful mood.

Jesus our ideal role model lived a life of intercession while here on earth. So if Jesus the Son of God lives a life of prayer, how much more we mortal ought to pray as He instructed us to do.

In today’s prayer session we have a model of prayer that can help us start our day right. Go through it, I found it very resourceful, I think you should also. So let’s get going:

A Prayer To Help Us Start The Day On The Right Track

Eternal Father of my soul, let my first thought be of You.

Let my first impulse be to worship You.

Let my speech be Your Name.

Let my first action be to kneel before You in prayer… ”

Let me not, when this morning prayer is said, think my worship ended and spend the day in forgetfulness of You. Rather from these moments of quietness let light go forth, and joy, and power, that will remain with me through all the hours of the day;

Keeping me chaste in thought: (“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14)

Keeping me temperate and truthful: (“Do not let any unwholesomeness talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29)

Keeping me humble in my estimation of myself: (“Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” Romans 12:3b)

Keeping me honorable and generous in my dealings with others: (“Freely you have received, freely give… Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Matthew 10:8b; Romans 12:10)

Keeping me loyal to every hallowed memory of the past: (“Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your forefathers.” Proverbs 22:28)

Keeping me mindful of my eternal destiny as a child of yours: (“In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade-kept in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:3b, 4)

Let me then put back into Your hand all that You have given me, rededicating to Your service all the powers of my mind and body, all my worldly goods, all my influence with others. All these O Father, are yours to use as You willSpeak in my words today, think in my thoughts, and work in my deeds… ” In Jesus Name. Amen.

Beloved, don’t forget the Name to use. The Name so Powerful and Great. Come and see Jesus living a life of intercession, so what is stopping you from doing same:

“And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12

If ever one of woman born might have lived without prayer, it was our spotless, perfect a Lord, and yet none was ever so much in supplication as He! Such was His love to His Father, that He loved much to be in communion with Him: such His love for His people, that He desired to be much in intercession for them.

The fact of this eminent prayerfulness of Jesus is a lesson for us—He hath given us an example that we may follow in His steps. The time He chose was admirable, it was the hour of silence, when the crowd would not disturb Him; the time of inaction, when all but Himself had ceased to labour; and the season when slumber made men forget their woes, and cease their applications to Him for relief. While others found rest in sleep, He refreshed Himself with prayer.

The place was also well selected. He was alone where none would intrude, where none could observe: thus was He free from Pharisaic ostentation and vulgar interruption. Those dark and silent hills were a fit oratory for the Son of God. Heaven and earth in midnight stillness heard the groans and sighs of the mysterious Being in whom both worlds were blended.

The continuance of His pleadings is remarkable; the long watches were not too long; the cold wind did not chill His devotions; the grim darkness did not darken His faith, or loneliness check His importunity. We cannot watch with Him one hour, but He watched for us whole nights.

The occasion for this prayer is notable; it was after His enemies had been enraged—prayer was His refuge and solace; it was before He sent forth the twelve apostles—prayer was the gate of His enterprise, the herald of His new work.

Should we not learn from Jesus to resort to special prayer when we are under peculiar trial, or contemplate fresh endeavours for the Master’s glory? Lord Jesus, teach us to pray.

What more could be said other than we pray as Jesus urged us to pray. Remember men always ought to pray and never faint. Also remember that Jesus is same yesterday, today and forever. Even in heaven He still intercedes on our behalf.

May God answer you when you call! May He shine His countenance upon you and bless you from above in Jesus Name I prayed.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
