Father, we thank You for all You have done for us. In everything You are Good. When I am faithless; You remaineth Faithful. I cannot but say You are good. In my crises; You remind of Christ. I bow before Your throne; accept my thanksgiving offering in Jesus Name. Amen!
Yesterday we consider an aspect of prayer called “submission”. Some school of thought do not agree with it, as it is written in John 14:14 “whatsoever we ask in Jesus Name, He will do it”. But I want you to know that God knows the best of what you and I need since we don’t have in our hands what tomorrow will be, not forgetting that God also said in His Word, I will fill your mouth with good things.(Ps 81:10)
Also note, the righteousness will never be moved (stumble, slip and fall, shaken) (Ps 55:22). He will defend and cover His beloved. Let’s ride on my dear, you are too defended for the devil to get through to you:
“As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem.” Isa. 31:5
With hurrying wing the mother bird hastens up to the protection of her young. She wastes no time upon the road when coming to supply them with food, or guard them from danger. Thus as on eagle’s wings will the Lord come for the defense of His chosen; yea, He will ride upon the wings of the wind.
With outspread wing the mother covers her little ones in the nest. She hides them away by interposing her own body. The hen yields her own warmth to her chicks, and makes her wings a house, in which they dwell at home. Thus doth Jehovah Himself become the protection of His elect. He Himself is their refuge, their abode, their all.
As birds flying, and birds covering (for the word means both), so will the Lord be unto us: and this He will be repeatedly and successfully. We shall be defended and preserved from all evil: the Lord who likens Himself to birds will not be like them in their feebleness, for He is Jehovah of hosts. Let this be our comfort, that Almighty love will be swift to succor, and sure to cover. The wing of God is more quick and more tender than the wing of a bird, and we will put our trust under its shadow henceforth and for ever. Amen!
What is it my dearly beloved that you spotting and fretting about? All you planned are not taking shape as planned, in fact anxiety has taken over your pillow; not to worry for our God is a Mighty God; He is able to do it, just be still and know that He is God. Move from the level of believing God to the level of knowing Him. Let us like Paul desire to know Him and the power that raised Christ from death (Phil 3:10).
I don’t know whom am addressing but listen, He knows it all and He can fix that situation better than you think, just get into an intimate relationship with your Maker and all your needs will be over:
“The lot is cast into the lap, but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.” Proverbs 16:33
If the disposal of the lot is the Lord’s whose is the arrangement of our whole life? If then a simple casting of a lot is guided by Him, how much more the events of our entire life—especially when we are told by our blessed Saviour: “The very hairs of your head are all numbered: not a sparrow falleth to the ground without your Father.” It would bring a holy calm over your mind, dear friend, if you were always to remember this. It would so relieve your mind from anxiety, that you would be the better able to walk in patience, quiet, and cheerfulness as a Christian should.
When a man is anxious he cannot pray with faith; when he is troubled about the world, he cannot serve His Master, his thoughts are serving himself. If you would “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” all things would then be added unto you. You are meddling with Christ’s business, and neglecting your own when you fret about your lot and circumstances. You have been trying “providing” work and forgetting that it is yours to obey. Be wise and attend to the obeying, and let Christ manage the providing.
Come and survey your Father’s storehouse, and ask whether He will let you starve while He has laid up so great an abundance in His garner? Look at His heart of mercy; see if that can ever prove unkind! Look at His inscrutable wisdom; see if that will ever be at fault. Above all, look up to Jesus Christ your Intercessor, and ask yourself, while He pleads, can your Father deal ungraciously with you? If He remembers even sparrows, will He forget one of the least of His poor children? “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain thee. He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
My soul, rest happy in thy low estate,
Nor hope nor wish to be esteem’d or great;
To take the impress of the Will Divine,
Be that thy glory, and those riches thine.
Father, apply this to the hearts of Your children for You are the prince of peace. Let Your peace reign in our lives and situations, Amen!
