Defensive Prayer
It is wise to pray defensively. Here is Billy Graham’s list:
- Prayer against wrong involvement with women
“It is God‘s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable… For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3, 4, 7)
- Prayer against love of money
“Godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment… But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang.” (1 Timothy 6:6, 9, 10)
- Prayer against pride
“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because… God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble‘… For this is what the high and lofty One says… ‘I live… with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.‘” (1 Peter 5:5b, Isaiah 57:15)
- Prayer against a critical spirit and tongue

- Prayer against wrong doctrine

Beloveth these are the things we will give ourselves to pray against in our lives. We must pay attention to them lest we fall… May God help us and answer us as we pray today in Jesus.
May we not fall by the way side in our Christian race in Jesus Name…
The Holy Spirit will help as we go on Amen!!! Faithful is our God …Amen!!!
