Beloved, how times fly! Wow! This month is almost off our calander schedules and the great God is doing great things all around us, what a glorious God we serve, I believe it has been a wonderful time from your own side too based the emails and comments that we are receiving from various quarters and I know they are also many who could not reach out to but are praising daily for meeting their needs through this ministry. Glory be to God in heaven for standing to uphold us to the very end.
A quick one we have to do today to see how far we can still go before the time is up. Today in our faith development class, we will be considering the last stage of faith development according to Fowler which is the fifth stage,
Stage Five: Sustaining. People at this stage keep on keeping on. As Paul said, they are doing “everything to stand . . . firm” (Ephes. 6:13). They continually seek God in and for all aspects of their lives. Models and mentors are not necessary and are sometimes distractions. Categories and content of faith are filled, renewed, rearranged and revised as they read, study and meditate on Scripture and as the Holy Spirit interacts with their own hearts and minds. They walk in the Spirit. They realize that they must strive mightily to present themselves as mature in Christ (see Col. 1:20-23). Their lives are being changed consistently because of their own constant seeking for spiritual renewal and development. They are “spiritually self-actualizing” Christians. The Christian community is a place for corporate worship and ministry with the internal community and from which to minister to the world
This stage in faith development is very important for every born again child of God to get to. It is so important that we get to maturity in our walk with God, to be able to differentiates what we are being taught in line with what is written. Because you are to stand before the judgment seat of God when this life is over not your pastor nor parents nor your spouse but you will stand.
Are you going to be that man according to 2 Tim 2:15 “who study to show himself approve, a work man who not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Not the word of man, not according to my daddy in the Lord, not according to my bishop but rightly dividing the Word of truth. Read verse 16 and see for yourself.
Beloved, stop keeping your bible on the shelf as a collection or under your pillow to wedge of witches and wizards but read it; study it also and God will be making your soul a fertile land that will bring forth thirty folds, sixty folds and hundred folds. Praise the Lord.
We have also mentioned to you head faith and heart faith. Which is also known as bible faith this kind of faith is same as simple faith and it is this faith that Abraham used and it worked for him because it is faith that based on what God has said
Four steps to getting this kind of faith work for you
First- Have God’s Word for what you desire to receive from God. Secondly- Believe God’s Word. Thirdly- Consider not the contradictory circumstances. And fourthly- Give praise to God for answer. These step takes you to your deliverance, healing answers to prayers, or whatever it is that you are seeking from God.
We considered Thomas’s kind of faith vs Abraham’s kind of faith- Thomas’s faith was based on his physical sense told him and not on the Word for he said “he will not believe unless he s could see. I promise a quick overview with the holyspirit on the driving seat.
Beloved there is so much on faith that this forum may not deliver fully but we can continue as the day go by.
However this teaching will be incomplete if we fail to teach on how to turn your faith loose- we mention that you confess what you believed- Rom 10:10; Mk 11:23.
Here also we are going to be considering four kinds of confession-
The Jews’ confession of sin (Mk 1:4, 5; 14,15); The confession of a sinner under the new covenant (Matt 3:5,6; Rom 10:9,10); The believer’s confession of His sins (Ps 137:1-4; 1J1:3-10; 1Jn1:9) and the believers confession of faith (Rom 10:10; Mk 11:23).
We are going to zero in to the last confession – believing plus confession equals activated faith- (Rom 10:10; Mk 11:23). Right thinking, believing, and confession- here we have the negative confession which associated with the confession of sins and the positive confession. The negative side of confession – confession of sins, weakness, and failures but there is a positive side and the bible said more of the positive side than the negative.
Confession is defined as – acknowledge or own up or to acknowledge faith in. It also means to confess one’s faults; of one’s faith or to acknowledge faith in God’s Word. it can also be seen as following:
Confession- is stating something we believe. Secondly- is declaring something we know to be true and thirdly is proclaiming a truth we have accepted wholeheartedly.
In turning your faith loose, we have to do the following- what are you to confess:
Firstly, what God has done for us through Christ in His plan of Salvation.
Secondly, what God has done in us by the word and the Holy Ghost in the new birth and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
Thirdly- who we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus.
Fourthly what Jesus is presently doing for us at the right hand of the Father where He ever live to make intercession for us and the fifthly what God can accomplish through us or what His Word will accomplish through us as we proclaim it.
It is so important you knew who you are in Christ Jesus. Secondly Corinthians 5:17-therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” We must not only know this ourselves but all those around us should also know who we are in Christ Jesus.
Eph 1:7 tell us also who we are in Christ- “…in whom we have redemption through His blood,….” We have redemption in Christ which means that Satan’s dominion over our lives has been broken!
Beloved, satan lost his hold over your life the moment you became a new creature and now Jesus reign over your life not Satan any longer (Col 1:13,14).
Satan dominion ended and Jesus dominion began the moment you became born again. Beloved you are also redeemed from the curses of law (Gal 3:13, 14); we redeemed from the causes of poverty.
Beloved, God want us to prosper as it is written in 3John 2. We are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Also Deut 28:8, 11-13. All the riches on earth belongs to you and I , so you don’t pray for riches nor money because you have authority over then; authority in the Name of Jesus but beloveth there is a condition- and is in Isaiah 1:19- “if you are willing and obedient. Are You?
Having known all these whatever the devil is doing should not get you scared but rather it should made you bold for the kingdom. Praise the Lord. “For I know whom I believe will be your confession, your Father owns the cattle’s upon a thousand hills. Praise the Lord.
The message of today came with so much assurance that no matter what it maybe; how it may look, even if shakes; it will not hurt you. If you truly know in whom you believed like Ezra, then you will stand by your confession that “Jesus is Lord.”
“For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.” Amos 9:9
The sifting process is going on still. Wherever we go, we are still being winnowed and sifted. In all countries God’s people are being tried “like as corn is sifted in a sieve.” Sometimes the devil holds the sieve, and tosses us up and down at a great rate, with the earnest desire to get rid of us for ever.
Unbelief is not slow to agitate our heart and mind with its restless fears. The world lends a willing hand at the same process, and shakes us to the right and to the left with great vigor. Worst of all, the church, so largely apostate as it is, comes in to give a more furious force to the sifting process.
Well, well! let it go on. Thus is the chaff severed from the wheat. Thus is the wheat delivered from dust and chaff. And how great is the mercy which comes to us in the text, “yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth”! All shall be preserved that is good, true, gracious.
Not one of the least of believers shall be lost, neither shall any believer lose anything worth calling a loss. We shall be so kept in the sifting that it shall be a real gain to us through Christ Jesus.
Else we make void of our confession. Oftentimes we are face with situation beyond us and we are left with no option than to seek help from where we should not. But caution here, this is where those who are matured in faith turns out to be their brother’s keeper, help those who are turn in their faith in Christ to stand against the tossing from Satan and his agents.
Sometime, we see believers not wanting to be of help even we they are in position to do. On the contrary those of satanic kingdom knows how to utilize this type of opportunity to hold their victims in bondage unlike our brethren. May God make you His legs, hands, mouth and eyes. Be a Christian indeed with your resources not in word only. Beloved, this is another level of faith that glorifies God else your refusal to be of help lead this brother/ sister to seek help from a heathen around them:
“For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek Him; but His power and His wrath is against all them that forsake Him.” Ezra 8:22
A convoy on many accounts would have been desirable for the pilgrim band, but a holy shame-facedness would not allow Ezra to seek one. He feared lest the heathen king should think his professions of faith in God to be mere hypocrisy, or imagine that the God of Israel was not able to preserve His own worshippers.
He could not bring his mind to lean on an arm of flesh in a matter so evidently of the Lord, and therefore the caravan set out with no visible protection, guarded by Him who is the sword and shield of His people.
It is to be feared that few believers feel this holy jealousy for God; even those who in a measure walk by faith, occasionally mar the lustre of their life by craving aid from man. It is a most blessed thing to have no props and no buttresses, but to stand upright on the Rock of Ages, upheld by the Lord alone.
Would any believers seek state endowments for their Church, if they remembered that the Lord is dishonoured by their asking Caesar’s aid? as if the Lord could not supply the needs of His own cause! Should we run so hastily to friends and relations for assistance, if we remembered that the Lord is magnified by our implicit reliance upon His solitary arm?
My soul, wait thou only upon God. “But,” says one, “are not means to be used?” Assuredly they are; but our fault seldom lies in their neglect: far more frequently it springs out of foolishly believing in them instead of believing in God. Few run too far in neglecting the creature’s arm; but very many sin greatly in making too much of it.
Learn, dear reader, to glorify the Lord by leaving means untried, if by using them thou wouldst dishonor the name of the Lord.
Gal 3:24 -26 “…,we are no longer under a servant. Because you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Don’t forget that all this is how to turn your faith loose. We will continue on these tomorrow by God’s help. May God help your understanding in Jesus Name.
Be determine in this race to get to end without dishonoring God rather make you confession strong and break all Satanic hold over your life. Remember we are on our way to dominion, and our dominion is guaranteed in Jesus Name. Don’t allow the devil to get you disoriented but rather let it be a lifting and leaping of your faith!
