Merciful Father, hallow be Thy Name. A Mighty God You are. In Your mercy will I rest forever and ever, for Your mercy endureth forever more. Let the earth rejoice and all that is within it praise His Holy Name.
In mercy You have preserved us from the wicked plans of the enemies from consuming us. Our goings and comings You have preserved all through the month. In the power of Your Might You kept us and you fought every secret battles for us. For the battle is of the Lord, why I should fear, why should I be murmur.
Beloved, are you on the Lord’s sides? Whose report will you believe? I shall believe the report of the Lord. His report said I am healed; His report said I am rich; His report said I am free; His report said victory!!!!
My body is God’s sanctuary; whose sanctuary is yours? When Christ was crucified and he breathe His last breath, the cloth in sanctuary torn. From up to down. This signifies that God no longer dwells in the temple but He dwells in you and I.
We are God’s Image, we are to carry Him everywhere we go, He is to seen in everything we do. God, give us the grace to be a living sanctuary, we pray Thee (1 Cor 3:17). Amen!
“Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.” Ezek. 11:16
Banished from the public means of grace, we are not removed from the grace of the means. The Lord who places His people where they feel as exiles will Himself be with them, and be to them all that they could have had at home, in the place of their solemn assemblies. Take this to yourselves, O ye who are called to wander!
God is to His people a place of refuge. They find sanctuary with Him from every adversary. He is their place of worship too. He is with them as with Jacob when he slept in the open field, and rising, said, “Surely God was in this place.” To them also He will be a sanctuary of quiet, like the Holy of Holies, which was the noiseless abode of the Eternal. They shall be quiet from fear of evil.
God Himself, in Christ Jesus, is the sanctuary of mercy. The ark of the covenant is the Lord Jesus, and Aaron’s rod, the pot of manna, the tables of the law, all are in Christ our sanctuary. In God we find the shrine of holiness and of communion.
What more do we need? O Lord, fulfill this promise and be ever to us as a little sanctuary!
We are not only a sanctuary for Him, we are also have been choosen from among the people. Why? Let’s find out :
“I have exalted one chosen out of the people.” Psalm 89:19
Why was Christ chosen out of the people? Speak, my heart, for heart-thoughts are best. Was it not that He might be able to be our brother, in the blest tie of kindred blood? Oh, what relationship there is between Christ and the believer! The believer can say, “I have a Brother in heaven; I may be poor, but I have a Brother who is rich, and is a King, and will He suffer me to want while He is on His throne? Oh, no! He loves me; He is my Brother.”
Believer, wear this blessed thought, like a necklace of diamonds, around the neck of thy memory; put it, as a golden ring, on the finger of recollection, and use it as the King’s own seal, stamping the petitions of thy faith with confidence of success. He is a brother born for adversity, treat Him as such.
Christ was also chosen out of the people that He might know our wants and sympathize with us. “He was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin.” In all our sorrows we have His sympathy. Temptation, pain, disappointment, weakness, weariness, poverty—He knows them all, for He has felt all. Remember this, Christian, and let it comfort thee. However difficult and painful thy road, it is marked by the footsteps of thy Saviour; and even when thou reachest the dark valley of the shadow of death, and the deep waters of the swelling Jordan, thou wilt find His footprints there. In all places whithersoever we go, He has been our forerunner; each burden we have to carry, has once been laid on the shoulders of Immanuel.
“His way was much rougher and darker than mine
Did Christ, my Lord, suffer, and shall I repine?”
Take courage! Royal feet have left a blood-red track upon the road, and consecrated the thorny path for ever.
We are few days away from Easter, the holy week commences today. May He help us even as He has promised us. Amen!
This week is declared blessed in the Name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say Rejoice.
Remain blessed in the Lord
