January 2
Will you be ready when the Lord shall come?
Will you be ready when the Lord shall come?
I will be ready, I will be ready! }
I will be ready, when the Lord shall come. } 2x
Our heavenly father, we are at Your feet again, thanking You for all You did for us last year. It was indeed Your hand that sought us out and saw us through. We are grateful to You alone Who is worthy of our praise. Thank You for another opportunity to serve You among humanity, to bring Your Word with power and auction from above. Glory be to You Lord. Thank You above all for finding us worthy to be co-labourers with you in your vineyard (1 Cor 3:9), may our labour be acceptable before You and may we receive our due wages from Your hand, Amen!
The song above is not only for the second advent of our Lord Jesus but can also mean our readiness to work with God. All through the ages, the Lord God Almighty is looking out for men and women that will be used of Him, to bring His plan and purpose to fulfillment. Will you be ready when the Lord will deliver your ministry, the whole essence of your existence here on earth?
The year is still young and your steps are not too far away, is important you consider along as you journey through life, the ministry God has put in your hands. Make time to function in it or you will be forced to function in it. Don’t ask me by whom? for am sure you know.
In the place God placed you, have you ever bothered to ask why you are there? Are you ready to be use of God and make a difference where you are? If that is your desire, come along with me to see those that have function in those capacity and how they made it through:
Probably, you are afraid as I was when the vision was first delivered. The truth is that you cannot run away from it, like Jonah you might end up in the belly of the fish. Not all ministerial callings exempt one from secular job, even if, remember Your Father is the owner of the earth and its fullness thereof so He is more than able to take care of all that concerns you.
So are you ready to make a difference? Come along with me and find out how you can join the saints of the Lord:
Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or with the wine he drank. So he asked permission from the chief official not to defile himself.—Daniel 1:8
Would you dare to believe that God, who called you to Himself and equipped you with His Spirit, could work mightily through you? Have you made the connection between the time and place in which you live and God’s call upon you? World events never catch God by surprise. He placed you precisely where you are for a purpose.
Daniel did not let the temptations of his day interfere with his relationship to the Lord. He knew that to make his life useful to God he must be obedient in all things. Regardless of what the most powerful king in the world commanded, Daniel refused to compromise what he knew God required of him.
History is replete with examples of Christian men and women who believed that God would work through them to make a significant difference for His kingdom. God placed Esther strategically in the king’s court at a crucial time when she could save the lives of God’s people (Esther 4:14). God placed Joseph strategically to become the most powerful adviser to the pharaoh in Egypt and to save Jacob and his family from a devastating drought (Gen. 41:39–40).
Are you allowing your surroundings to determine how you invest your life? Or are you letting God use you to make a difference in your generation? Ask God to reveal His purposes for you and His will for your life today, for the year is still young.
When I first heard this message, the ministry became more clearly to me, I began to have better understanding of what God is saying, will you allow the Holy Spirit to permute you and be distinguished for the Master’s use? For the promise of God is sure to be, as He gave to the Israelite their promised inheritance; so will He deliver to us His promises to us.
“They did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.” Joshua 5:12
Israel’s weary wanderings were all over, and the promised rest was attained. No more moving tents, fiery serpents, fierce Amalekites, and howling wildernesses: they came to the land which flowed with milk and honey, and they ate the old corn of the land. Perhaps this year, beloved Christian reader, this may be thy case or mine. Joyful is the prospect, and if faith be in active exercise, it will yield unalloyed delight.
To be with Jesus in the rest which remaineth for the people of God, is a cheering hope indeed, and to expect this glory so soon is a double bliss. Unbelief shudders at the Jordan which still rolls between us and the goodly land, but let us rest assured that we have already experienced more ills than death at its worst can cause us. Let us banish every fearful thought, and rejoice with exceeding great joy, in the prospect that this year we shall begin to be “for ever with the Lord.”
A part of the host will this year tarry on earth, to do service for their Lord. If this should fall to our lot, there is no reason why the New Year’s text should not still be true. “We who have believed do enter into rest.” The Holy Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance; He gives us “glory begun below.” In heaven they are secure, and so are we preserve in Christ Jesus; there they triumph over their enemies, and we have victories too. Celestial spirits enjoy communion with their Lord, and this is not denied to us; they rest in His love, and we have perfect peace in Him: they hymn His praise, and it is our privilege to bless Him too.
We will this year gather celestial fruits on earthly ground, where faith and hope have made the desert like the garden of the Lord. Man did eat angels’ food of old, and why not now? O for grace to feed on Jesus, and so to eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan this year!
Are you ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To make a difference in your life, Home, Office, Church, Ministry, Community, Country. I don’t know which position you are right now but what I know is that you can make a positive difference right where you are placed by God, the big question is, “will you yield yourself”?
Happy New Year! our year of “Divine Favour”
Remain blessed in the Lord.
