Today’s topic says… not everyone handles wealth successfully… do you agree with that… if yes… why is it so? or put the way round… Is it suppose to be so?

In this month we are trusting God for Lifting… what are those things that might impede the move of God in our lives or in certain peoples lives…

Last week Monday precisely we taught about “Seven laws of Business Success”… Just a quick recap, firstly we must God first… secondly, we must know the Word of God and apply same to our life and business… Thirdly…. We must expect Big things from a Big God…. fourthly, we must place value on people than products or services… fifthly, we must tithe our profit… by honouring God with same… Sixth- we must be committed to honesty and integrity… and the seventh- we must be diligent in our pursuit of business and I remember mentioning that if we apply same principle in kingdom work, it will be successful too…

Beloveth having applied all these principles and is working and God brought us to the point of blessedness … He lifted us as He promised, we are successful… then here comes the pit- fall… if not well managed … the topic of today… will you manage the wealth successfully or allow pride to enter you?… Are we going to allow God’s blessings to destroy us and use it to dishonour God… or are we going to allow it to bolster our walk with God…

Beloveth… putting yourself in the place of this topic how far have you gone… with God’s blessedness… while you are coming up with your answer…

Let quickly consider what was written below:

 Not Everyone Handles Wealth Successfully

According to Proverbs 10:22, God does entrust some people with wealth: “It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.

Yet the Scriptures warn us against the perils of wealth. For example, the more you have:

  1. The more people will show up to drain off your resources:

When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes.” (Ecclesiastes 5:11)

  1. The greater the potential for strife among family members:

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abrams cattle and the herdmen of Lots cattle.” (Genesis 13:7)

  1. The greater the temptation to hoard and to take life easy:

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.” (Luke 12:17-19)

  1. The greater the tendency to put your hope in material possessions, rather than in God:

Charge them that are rich in this world, [not to] trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God… ” (1 Timothy 6:17)

  1. The greater the tendency to become conceited:

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded… ” (1 Timothy 6:17)

Perhaps that is why Solomon struck a balance between wealth and poverty in praying,

Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is my portion, lest I be full and deny Thee and say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be in want and steal, and profane the name of my God.” (Proverbs 30:18, 19)

Clearly, God’s Word instructs us to not love or desire wealth (1 Timothy 6:6-10). However, should God entrust us with riches, we are to then carefully follow Scriptural guidelines on its stewardship, such as those outlined in 1 Timothy 6:17-19.

If you are here with us… what can you say… being wealthy has its own ups and downs … but if we follow the scripture… we will not offend God… we will not create hindrances to our faith… we will obey the Lord and find favour in His sight by honouring Him with what He had bestowed upon us Amen!!!

Like Solomon… may God not deny me wealth that His Name will be profane nor give me such wealth that will make me to forget Him … God forbid…. that is my take… what is yours, beloveth?
