Beloveth, yesterday we recall the roles of the Second Person in Trinity our Lord and personnel Saviour Jesus Christ… outstanding our Redeemer and Restorer. Today we will be considering the works of the Holy Spirit- He is the Third Person in Trinity, equal in power and glory with the Father and the Son.  Before Jesus ascended into heaven He promised His followers to send His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. He is to come and live in our hearts and in our midst. And He promised that the Holy Spirit would never leave us. He is always there, always accessible. Always giving us access to the loving, saving, healing, powerful presence of God.

The Bible tells us this about the Holy Spirit:

He is God, the third person of the Trinity. 2. He is the Spirit of Jesus whom Jesus sent when He ascended into heaven. 3. He is always with us. 4. He gives us salvation and sanctification. 5. He gives us power to conquer sin and fear. 6. He gives us strength to be Jesus’ witness in the world.

That is, The Holy Spirit is -our Teacher, Counselor, Comforter, the Giver of our Peace and Joy- somebody shout alleluia!!!!

Beloveth, we are nothing aside the Spirit of Jesus in us, we can do nothing, absolutely nothing. As we see in teaching below, we see that the firstfruits of Holy Spirit- repentance, without repentance we cannot access other blessings in Christ Jesus. Other firstfruits are faith, hope and love, all these are possible because the Holy Spirit helps our infirmities but they are not gotten by our power but through the help of the Holy which we must be careful to return back to God as it holy unto Him, alleluia somebody!

Come along with us for more:

“Ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit.” Romans 8:23

Present possession is declared. At this present moment we have the first fruits of the Spirit. We have repentance, that gem of the first water; faith, that priceless pearl; hope, the heavenly emerald; and love, the glorious ruby. We are already made “new creatures in Christ Jesus,” by the effectual working of God the Holy Ghost. This is called the firstfruit because it comes first.

As the wave-sheaf was the first of the harvest, so the spiritual life, and all the graces which adorn that life, are the first operations of the Spirit of God in our souls. The firstfruits were the pledge of the harvest. As soon as the Israelite had plucked the first handful of ripe ears, he looked forward with glad anticipation to the time when the wain should creak beneath the sheaves.

So, brethren, when God gives us things which are pure, lovely, and of good report, as the work of the Holy Spirit, these are to us the prognostics of the coming glory. The firstfruits were always holy to the Lord, and our new nature, with all its powers, is a consecrated thing. The new life is not ours that we should ascribe its excellence to our own merit; it is Christ’s image and creation, and is ordained for His glory.

But the firstfruits were not the harvest, and the works of the Spirit in us at this moment are not the consummation—the perfection is yet to come. We must not boast that we have attained, and so reckon the wave-sheaf to be all the produce of the year: we must hunger and thirst after righteousness, and pant for the day of full redemption.

Dear reader, this today open your mouth wide, and God will fill it. Let the boon in present possession excite in you a sacred avarice for more grace. Groan within yourself for higher degrees of consecration, and your Lord will grant them to you, for He is able to do exceeding abundantly above what we ask or even think.

Beloveth, did you read through it, the firstfruits are not the harvest; the works of the Holy Spirit in us are not the consummation, the perfection is yet to come. We must therefore hunger and thirst for righteousness and pant for the day of full redemption – the day Christ we say to us well done good and faithful servant, and you shall receive the crown of glory (1Pet 5:4). Praise the Lord.

But until that day you and I must keep walking on the righteous path, keep going in faith, keep hope alive and make love your ultimate goal  (1 Cor 13:13). May God help us to be true and true in Jesus Name! In this season of highly favoured we will bring forth fruit unto the Lord, fruit not unto death but unto newness of the Spirit (Rom  7:4-6).

Remain blessed in the Lord.
