What Manner of Man of Jesus, alleluia! x2

He makes the Lame to walk, alleluia!

What Manner of Man of Jesus, alleluia!

He makes the blind to see, alleluia!

What Manner of Man of Jesus, alleluia!

Father, we are grateful to You for a blessed day like this, the beginning of another beautiful week in You. Thank You for the Sun, Moon, and Stars and all that You created for Your glory that standeth sure, day in, day out; for as constant as they are, Thou remaineth faithful in the lives of Your children. Blessed be Thou alone both now and forever.

Solomon in His book said, Get wisdom, get understanding; … Therefore get wisdom; Yea, with all thy getting get understanding Prov 4:5-7 (ASV) True knowledge comes from God. We rely on Him alone to excel. The wisdom of the world cannot take us far in the journey of life but that given by our Redeemer will take us farther in lives and ministry.

What is wisdom without understanding? In the beginning God said, let there be light and there was light. Apostle John in his book put it this way, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Jn 1:1-5 (KJV) (paraphrase)

When the light comes nothing will stop it, no demon can comprehend the plan and purpose of God concerning your life, career and ministry. The darker the darkness; the better the light shines, for darkness can never overcome the light.

Beloved, you cannot overcome darkness outside the Word of God. The agents of darkness cannot tell you about your future in Christ, for they have no path in the light, neither can they show you the way to go in life because it is hidden from them too. So how then shall a child of God live? Come and see what the Word of God say concerning it:

For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as to divide soul, spirit, joints, and marrow; it is a judge of the ideas and thoughts of the heart.—Hebrews 4:12

Does God’s word ever cause you discomfort? When you read the Bible does what you read make you uneasy? Do you find when you listen to sermons, that the Scripture seems aimed directly at you? You are experiencing the reality that the word of God is alive and can read your thoughts and judge your intentions.

When God’s word speaks to you it is always for a purpose. God knows your heart and knows what you need to do to bring your life into conformity to Christ. If you have a problem with sinful talk, the word that comes to you will address the tongue. If you are struggling to forgive, God’s word will confront you with His standard for forgiveness. If pride has a stronghold in your life, God’s word will speak to you about humility. Whatever sin needs addressing, you will find you are confronted by God’s word on the matter.

One way you can escape the discomfort of conviction is to avoid hearing God speak to you. You may neglect reading your Bible and stay away from places where it is taught. You may avoid those whom you know will uphold the truths of Scripture. The best response, however, is to pray as the psalmist did: “Search me, O God, and know my heart” (Ps. 139:23).

Regularly allow the word of God to wash over you and find any sin or impurity (Eph. 5:26). Always make the connection between your life and what God is saying to you through His word. Make a habit of taking every word from God seriously, knowing that it is able to judge your heart and mind.

Put in another way, God knows the intents of your heart, therefore He knows all your thought and actions (inactions). Who searches the heart? The Holy Spirit. Most often He comes as a dove, as a light, as a fire, as a water, it can also come as a hammer. Surprised!  Come again, let us see the effects of light in the life of a child of God.

He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27

The two disciples on the road to Emmaus had a most profitable journey. Their companion and teacher was the best of tutors; the interpreter one of a thousand, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The Lord Jesus condescended to become a preacher of the gospel, and He was not ashamed to exercise His calling before an audience of two persons, neither does He now refuse to become the teacher of even one. Let us court the company of so excellent an Instructor, for till He is made unto us wisdom we shall never be wise unto salvation.

This unrivalled tutor used as His class-book the best of books. Although able to reveal fresh truth, He preferred to expound the old. He knew by His omniscience what was the most instructive way of teaching, and by turning at once to Moses and the prophets, He showed us that the surest road to wisdom is not speculation, reasoning, or reading human books, but meditation upon the Word of God. The readiest way to be spiritually rich in heavenly knowledge is to dig in this mine of diamonds, to gather pearls from this heavenly sea.

When Jesus Himself sought to enrich others, He wrought in the quarry of Holy Scripture. And quarry you will agree with me is not one of the finest place nor is it the coziest place to be but a dig in the quarry guarantees you wealth beyond your imaginations. So why not make a move now! Start digging and start getting illuminate.

Child of God, as we are progressing into the year, let us desire to get Wisdom that will lead us to the quarry to obtain Life. Let us also through the light of the Word obtain grace that will make us excel above our fellows in Jesus name.

I pray for you beloved, as you dig in the quarry of the Holy Scripture, let every blindness disappear in Jesus Name; as regain your sight. Amen! Let every Thinness turn to fattest as you fed fat on the Word, Amen. Let every dumbness be break loose as you speak out the Word to hungry souls and in prayer. Amen!

Remain blessed in the Lord.
