Eternal Rock of ages, Father, we blessed You Name, we worship You, we glorified Your Holy Name, we adore You, we Magnify you, blessed be thou Holy Name forever and ever more, We are thankful to You for another day in Your presence, another victorious day in Your presence. Blessed be Thy Holy Name.
Beloved, 2015 has come to stay, did you cross over with us or you are still behind sucking and licking the wounds and sores of 2014. That for the dogs to lick wounds and snore at every passing thing, human or otherwise.
My dear. You are Eagle of the moment, eagles don’t suck nor squats around but rather they tend to soar higher than their turbulence without fear.
Beloved, do you know as we read and we are rejoicing at the arrival of a new year, many have projected or planned their business plan up to the first quarter of the year (though silent on their spiritual angle of it) to them it depends on God, but that’s where we usually miss it. We don’t plan our spiritual life along as we plan for the secular. That not my emphasis right now.
Be stir in your spirit man and get going, keep on moving. The Lord wants to meet you and show you the way and grant you victories but not at your sucking zone but at your workshop. While you are praying and meditating as well, that where He is visiting you.
Talking about prayer, it very important you and I take out time and seek the face of God early in this first month of the year. Many started their fast late last year so if you are yet to start, start as you are reading this devotional, so as to do some spiritual exercise that will profit you more. Take out time to plan for the year.
Plan to fast and pray for 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 7 days as your health can stand, if you are not dispose to fasting, deny yourself one thing you like and offer it back to God, you will be amazed at how God will accept it. so if you are yeat to start, start today.
While the first message adapted from FOTM is encouraging us to get up and get going abiding in the grace of God, the second message also adapted from FCB is emphasizing on the Faithfulness and Sovereignty of God. Come, let’s keep going:
Picking Up The Pieces And Starting Over
Yesterday I had a bad day. I got angry, struggled with lust, and found myself critical of almost everyone who crossed my path. This morning in my time with God, as I “licked my wounds,” I offered up this prayer to Him. If you are able to identify with me, you may want to pray along as you read:
“Lord, this morning I confess to you my abject poverty, wretchedness, hypocrisy, coldness of heart, judgmental spirit, indifference to others; my self-centeredness, greed, unimaginable pride, self-serving motives, coldness of heart, vile profanity, and sensuality.”
[“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted… But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.‘” (Matthew 5:3, 4; Luke 18:13)]
“If you kept track of my sins I would be finished. I feel self-condemned and wretched. Yet I know that if I can’t accept your forgiveness, I am rejecting the very essence of the cross. Unworthy as I am, I must grasp the truth that you have always loved me; that you actually died for me; thus releasing me from condemnation – even self-condemnation. I need to remember that I will spend eternity as the recipient of your lavished love. Incomprehensibly, you actually delight in me, and derive pleasure from me. If that isn’t amazing grace, I don’t know what is!”

But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared… I [God] have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness… ‘ In him we have… the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God‘s grace that he lavished on us… to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment… I do not judge myself… Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalm 130:3, 4; Jeremiah 31:3b; Ephesians 1:7-9 selected; 1 Corinthians 4:3b; Psalm 17:8)]
“So today, I will choose to delight in your unconditional love, and once again take baby steps in learning how to let go, relax, and allow your Spirit free access to the depths of my being. Help me today Lord, when that ugly part of my nature starts to rear its nasty head, to surrender it over to you; to not allow lust, or impatience, or pride, or greed to gain a foothold; to instantly lift my heart up to you in surrender. May each step, each awareness, each encounter, and each challenge, be quietly given over to you.”
[“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart… Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart… So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Psalm 27:4; 2 Timothy 2:22; Galatians 5:16)]
“Would you, Lord, teach me today how to rest in your presence and unconditional grace, filled with, and controlled by, your Holy Spirit? In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
[“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ… Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (2 Peter 3:18a; Galatians 5:25)]
Beloved, keep in step with the Holy Spirit. He will guide you into your victories this year in Jesus Name. Not minding what is behind you (the failures of yester years, the sickness that had held you bound, the childlessness situation that has weighed you down, that business that refused to pick up) but reaching out instead to things ahead of you. My dear, get up; pick up your piece and move on.
Many declaration have been made this year and for us in overcomers-faith Int’l, The Lord is saying this year is our year of total victories from all form of assaults of the devil and his cohorts. And the good thing about this promise is that the God Himself will do it all for us. He knows the battle terrain better than you and I. He knows the real enemies and how to combat them, therefore He knows what to do to disarm them and bring their activities to halt.
Beloved, if it means to blind your enemies to get you to safety He will do just that as in the days of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen 19:11). If it needs to lay ambush, the God we serve will do just that for us as He did for Jehoshaphat (2 Chr 20:22). If what you need is a change of name, God will do it as He did with Abraham and Sarah (Gen 17: 1-16). If your victories lies in drowning your enemies as in case of Pharaoh and his chariots, that is exactly what He will do (Exo 14:5-9; 17-28). He can also rain brimstone and fire out of heaven and overthrew them (Gen 19:24-25).
This acts of God brought total victories to the people of God and your Father can do it again for your sake. So do not fear, for He Who promised; is able to do it. Not one Word of His will fall to the ground without being fulfilled. Had He said it; He will fulfill it.
Don’t doubt God rather doubt your doubt. Whatever God said through His servant, He has the capacity to bring forth, but you have to believe Him. Is not about what you are feeling now, your current bank account position, your state of health. If He declares you “whole”, no Satan can change His decree. Remember His kindness and covenant will He honour:
“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Isa. 54:10
One of the most delightful qualities of divine love is its abiding character. The pillars of the earth may be moved out of their places, but the kindness and the covenant of our merciful Jehovah never depart from His people. How happy my soul feels in a firm belief of this inspired declaration!
The new year is here, and the years of my life are growing few, but time does not change my Lord. New lamps are taking the place of the old, perpetual change is on all things; but our Lord is the same. Force overturns the hills, but no conceivable power can affect the eternal God. Nothing in the past, the present, or the future can cause Jehovah to be unkind to me.
My soul, rest in the eternal kindness of the Lord, who treats thee as one near of kin. Remember also the everlasting covenant. God is ever mindful of it -see that thou art mindful of it too. In Christ Jesus the glorious God has pledged Himself to thee to be thy God, and to hold thee as one of His people. Kindness and covenant — dwell on these words as sure and lasting things which eternity itself shall not take from thee.
As God sworn to Abraham (Heb 6:13) He confirmed it by oath (v17). His covenant with us He will keep.
“God Is” according to Heb 11:6. If you believe truly He is; He will reward you. This week is blessed in the Lord. Go and conquer in the Name of the Lord.
