Beloved, how are doing today? Hope you are good? Have the Lord been merciful to you; have you seen the Hand of God at work in your life and situation? Come let us lift His Name higher above all other gods as we pray today. We need not shout or scream or cut ourselves as it was in the day of prophet Elijah because our God is a Living God, He hears when we call, He listen ti our plea and send forth His Word, he has Hand that can move and render help, our God has legs that can move therefore He maketh haste to help us,

Beloveth, when God send forth His Word, His Word becomes flesh and dwell among us, to deliver and to make us whole, He died for us so that we can live here on earth and afterward make it to heaven. They He send forth His Spirit to dwell among us, to teach and to help us, He is our Comforter, our Deliverer, our Director, our Companion, He is Counselor, He help our infirmities when we pray, glory be to God on high in Jesus Name.

Beloved, our teaching today is something you will be excited about, many authors have written many version of it however, we will be learning another angle to it today. So come along with us to discover again what it means to pray in the Spirit:

Job 36:1-37:24, Psalm 106:32-39, Proverbs 22:7-8, 1 Corinthians 14:1-25

“Praying in the Spirit”

I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with my understanding.—1 Corinthians 14:15

What does it mean to pray “in the Spirit”? Here again, there is a good deal of misunderstanding among Christians as to the true meaning of this phrase.

There are times when one feels deeply affected emotionally as one prays, but this is not the meaning of the phrase “praying in the Spirit.” It has no relationship to the emotions that we feel in prayer. I am not saying that feelings are unimportant in prayer; I am simply saying that I do not believe this is what Paul had in mind when he used the phrase “praying in the Spirit.”

The “spirit” spoken of here is not the human spirit but the Holy Spirit. Some believe that “praying in the Spirit” takes place when we pray in other tongues, and although it can include that, I believe it is much more than that.

Prayer that is “in the Spirit” is prayer that is prompted and guided by the Spirit. One commentator puts it this way: “It means that the Holy Spirit directs the prayer, creates the prayer within us, and empowers us to offer it and to pray it.”

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones calls praying in the Spirit “the secret of true prayer” and goes on to say: “If we do not pray in the Spirit, we do not really pray.” I would hesitate to make such a sweeping statement myself, but I would go so far as to say that if we do not know what it means to pray in the Spirit, our prayers will have little impact upon Satan and his forces.

Prayer

Dear Father, I have so much to learn about prayer that unless You take my hand and guide me, I can soon lose my way. Teach me how to enter the deeper levels of prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

To what does the Spirit bear witness?

What was Christ’s promise to His disciples?

Beloved, did you discover anything from the above teaching? Do you agree with the author about what he said about “praying in the Spirit?” I think I do, if you do not pray in the Spirit, our prayer will not make any impact upon satan and his forces. We need to always pray in the Spirit to have answers deliver to us and our needs met in the way God has designed for it to be met (Rom 8:28).

It is a common understanding all over the Christendom that when you hear pray in the Spirit it is mostly assumed that you should pray in another tongue but from the teaching we just heard it is not exactly that alone, rather praying in the Spirit is not praying in a new tongue alone, it means to pray a prayer prompted and guided by the Spirit not vain babbling as many do while praying, even Jesus warm His disciples against such prayers as our Father knows what we need and several repetition will make no difference rather we will portray God as a Baal not a Living God and am sure you don’t want to do that. Repetition (Matt 6:7, 1Kings 18:21-39).

Now that you have a better understanding of what it means to pray in the Spirit, can you now pray in that understanding so that your prayers will be heard? Our Father is still giving answers to prayers and yours will be among them. Holy Spirit help our infirmities as we pray today, help us to pray through You so as to receive answers to our prayers in Jesus Name. (Rom 8:26-28).

Our gracious Father, arise and be God indeed unto us, fill us with Your Spirit and help us to pray Your Will as we pray today in Jesus Name. Glory be to Jesus.

Beloved, let us pray in the Spirit. Alleluia amen!!!!!!!!!!!

Remain blessed in the Lord.
