Yes! God’s Word worth’s more than all the assets of Whole world banks put together. It is smoothing and refreshing. It quenching the thirsting of my souls. Glory be to God who will not forsake us but will always revive us.
Yes! He will always revive us. Revival is the key to keep the fire glowing. It helps to maintain our committment as part of end time soldiers. It guarantees eternity and rest after. Glory be to God.
Beloved, God’s word say that we should be anxious for nothing, He is our everlasting King, He promise to keep the feet of the saint (1 Sam2:9) Beloved, you may be able to appreciate his promise until you see yourself freedom of movement is tapered with either as result of illness or social unrest. How much can a soldier achieve without advancing to the war front.
As we will be reading today, apart of the revival that the Spirit of God grants, we are going to read about nice Christians with nice cross. They don’t want to offend Satan and his cohorts. They cooperate with evil and still claim to be serving the Living God. Beloved, our God does not compromise sins or evil likewise all that will follow him.
He promise to maintain a difference and I pleaded with us yesterday to continual making sure that they break not the hedge so that the serpent will not bite.
May God continue to help us and make His Spirit rest on us and help us to advance the battle.
Revive us again Father, we pray Thee:
Lord, I have heard the report about You;
Lord, I stand in awe of Your deeds.
Revive [Your work] in these years;
make [it] known in these years.
In [Your] wrath remember mercy!—Habakkuk 3:2
Only God can restore life to something that has died. If you find that your heart has grown cold to God, that the spiritual life of your family or church has waned, call out to God to revive you, for only He can give life. It is not your activity but your relationship with God that brings life!
Spiritual fervor can ebb if left unattended. We all begin our walk with the Lord enthusiastically, with an excited sense of anticipation. But over time, busyness creeps in. We become distracted and let our sin go unchallenged. We may take our relationship with God for granted and not notice the gradual decline until we find ourselves drained of spiritual vitality.
This descent can happen in your church just as it does in your personal life. Do you remember a time when the Holy Spirit was moving mightily in your church, and the members sensed God leading in an exciting direction? Are the services now lifeless and the power of God only a memory?
At a time like this it is futile to try to bring back life yourself. You can organize many activities and exhort those around you, but only God can resurrect what is dead. If God has initiated something in your life, or family, or church, only He can sustain it or revive it.
If you sense that the spiritual vigor has gone out of your life or the life of your church, this is God’s invitation to pray. He wants you to intercede with Him so that He might revive His work. Jesus said that He is Life. It is unnecessary to remain spiritually lifeless when He has promised vibrant, abundant life if you will claim it.
Yes! In this last PLC let ensure that we spiritual life and vibrant as only that will ensure our eternity package. Ensure that every dross is burnt off and let the diamond in you come alive. Praise God! Let’s discover more:
“Nice” Christians With “Nice” Crosses
Can you imagine wearing a miniature electric chair around your neck? Hardly. Yet, the cross was the electric chair of Jesus’ day.
The cross – a tool for killing undesirables, was taken from rough, unfinished trees. When they slammed your body up against it and nailed you there, the wood dug into your flesh. You got cut and bruised. The “electric chair” – that cross, was an object of certain death.
But the cross we wear around our neck these days is smooth. Comfortable. It glistens. Usually it’s made of 18 karat gold. An object of beauty. An ornament. Something “nice” to wear.
And the cross most “Christians” bear for Jesus also has a rather “nice,” ornamental quality about it. That’s because we reserve the “right” to choose it ourselves. So we ensure that in serving Him we do something that makes us feel good, and get lots of pats on the back. Nope, there’s nothing about our cross that has that nasty stench of dying flesh.
Many “Christians” today, like the smooth crosses they wear, are “nice” people. They pay their bills. They don’t chase loose women. They’re the kind of “nice” people you want living next door: Totally harmless in terms of being any threat to Satan’s domain.
By way of contrast, Jesus was not a gender-neutral, nonjudgmental, ecumenically-sensitive ‘nice’ fellow who set out to produce “nice” people. No, today, He develops radicals, and revolutionaries, who because of their beliefs and convictions are an affront to society. People who are no longer “in the loop“. People in the company who get transferred to Iceland. Or get murdered. (Remember: 10 out of the original 12 disciples were murdered.)
Thus, Christ forewarned his Twelve, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.‘ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also… ” (John 15:18-20a)
So, if you are viewed around town as a “nice” person, is it possible you are not really all that godly? Because, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2 Timothy 3:12b)
Jesus’ challenge remains, “If anyone wants to follow in my footsteps, he must give up all right to himself, carry his cross every day and keep close behind me. For the man who wants to save his life will lose it, but the man who loses his life for my sake will save it.” (Luke 9:23, 24 – Phillips Translation)
The question also remains: Are you up to carrying His assigned cross? Certainly, the answer for each of us must be, “Yes, but only by His grace.“
More than what we can do is what God will do for us. Ask the Holy Spirit to revival you again. Let His fire burn in your bones in Jesus Name. I believe you are blessed. Give Praise to him alone.
See you next week by His God grace. Glory be to His Name alone for ever and ever in Jesus Name.
Beloved, we will yet be revived again. Praise the Lord.
Remain blessed in the Lord.
