Beloveth our topic today shows us that as children of God we must not engage in ritual worship with the Lord rather we must engage in relationship worship with the Lord. let us learn from those that has gone ahead of us to see what a relationship worship is like using Mary as an example.
Every person on earth was born to worship God. it is part of God’s design for our lives. the psalmist wrote, “Let every thing that hath breath Praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. (Ps 150:6). And in truth every person does worship- some worship God and others worship something else. When we do not put God in His rightful place on the throne of our lives, we find something to take His place. Often a lack of worship of God is an indication of a worship of self instead.
Mary was a young woman, possibly still in her teens, when Gabriel announced that she would be the mother of Jesus in response, her heart of worship poured out in a beautiful testimony of Praise to God. one of the thing I like about Mary’s worship is that it was clarity directed to God. It wasn’t about her need to worship; it was about God and His Greatness.
Mary’s worship came from a heart of gratitude. She realized that it was God’s grace that was providing her salvation and the salvation of the world. she humbly accepted God’s plan and rejoiced that she was part of it.
Kent Hughes said, “the height of devotion is reached when reverence and contemplation produce passionate worship, which in turn break forth in thanksgiving and Praise in word and song.” This kind of worship should be a daily reality in our lives
Beloveth, if we think about all that God has done for us, we will not find it hard to worship Him with our whole heart.
Come along for more discovery:
They stopped asking: Where is the Lord who brought us from the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness.—Jeremiah 2:6
Christianity is an intimate, growing relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. It is not a set of doctrines to believe, habits to practice, or sins to avoid. Every activity God commands is intended to enhance His love relationship with His people.
God designed worship for us to see Him in His glory and to respond appropriately; for many it has degenerated into “religion,” one more meeting to attend out of habit. God established the sacrificial system so that we, His people, could express our love to Him; but we often diminish our gifts to our Lord into futile attempts to appease Him and to pacify our guilty conscience.
God gave us prayer so we could have conversation with Him, but we often distort this by “saying prayers” and hurrying off without ever listening to what is on our Father’s heart. God instituted His commandments as a protection for those He loves, but the commandments can become a pathway to legalism rather than an avenue for a relationship with our Father in which He protects us from harm.
Religious activity apart from fellowship with God is empty ritual. The people of Jeremiah’s day were satisfied to have the ritual without the manifest presence of God. They became so comfortable with their “religion” that they didn’t even notice God’s absence.
Is it possible to pray, to attend a worship service, or to give an offering yet not to experience the presence of God? It certainly is possible! And that has been the sad commentary on many a Christian experience.
Don’t settle for a religious life that lacks a vital relationship to Jesus Christ. When God is present, the difference will be obvious.
Beloveth, let that be our focus this year… we must worship God in truth and in Spirit, we must not offer to God an empty worship devoid of His Presence as we go through this year. May the we go with the Presence of God always Amen.
Our Father we worship and adore You in Your holiness, arise and make Name for Yourself in Jesus Name…
Have a refreshing time before His Presence Amen!!!
Remain blessed in the Lord.
