Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we will be considering a very important topic as we race through the last week of this month, I pray you keep date with the Holy Spirit so that Your Spirit will be enriched and blessed in Jesus Name!

Our topic for today says “Search the Scriptures.” The Scripture we are discussing here is the Bible, the Living Word of God? The Scripture is powerful! It is very Word of God, the best- selling book of all time has traveled all over the world, changing hearts and lives wherever it goes.

In time past people have died for the right to translate it and read in their own language. The fact that people have died carrying it illegally across boards . In spite of that no matter the opposition has come against it, its message continues to spread. The scripture has the power to accomplish the purposes God has for sending it into our lives, it  mission and it produces fruit. It also flourishes and prospers where God sends it. Just as the God’s spoken Word in Genesis carried the power to create the universe, His written Word also carries the power to create new life in the heart of those who believe and live in its truth (Isa 55:10-11, 1 Thess 2:13).

The Scripture is Portable, we live in such a glorious time for engaging with scripture. We are able to read the Bible in our own language, on a hand-held device anywhere we go. For many generations, people have had print bibles they could carry with them, but transferring Bibles from one place to another could be costly and even dangerous.

Today’s topic talk about constant, night and day everywhere-you-go meditation. Scripture was still portable through tradition, memorization, and mediation. That kind of engagement can be so much more powerful than just  having a device in your pocket or availability of a website. It is actually carrying God’s Word inside you, not just with you. Is encouraging us to pay attention to God’s Word, internalize it, meditate on it, and obey it, so that it will bring life and healing to our souls.(Josh.1:8, Prov 4:20-22).

It also important to know that Scripture is Alive. No matter how many times you read the same verse, the same passage, or even through the whole Bible, you will experience the revelation of the new truths and insights you have seen there before. God uses His written Word to speak directly to us today

When you begin your time of reading and study with an invitation from God to speak to you, it can become so personalized to your situation, circumstances, and emotions, that it feel like it is cutting down  deep into your very soul. Just like the happiness you may experience when you get a personal, hand-written note from dear friend, imagine God writing each page as a love letter to His children (Heb 4:12).

I want you to also know that the scripture is Reliable, useful, it feeds our souls, it brings Wisdom (Prov 2:2-6), it refines us (Eph 5:22-27), it guides us (Ps 119:105.18). the scriptures connects us to others (1Tim 4:13), it equips us (Ps 109:10-11, 2 Tim 2:15), Its set us free (Jn 8:32), The Scripture reveals Jesus (Jn 5:39-40), the Scripture inspires action  (Jas 1:22-25). Praise the Lord!

Beloveth, the whole impact of the scriptures in our live is meant to inspire us to put it to work; we are call to practice the Scripture in our everyday lives. When we read / search through the scriptures if it does not drive us to action, we are not living up to the life we are called to live. Spiritual transformation happens as much through doing and being the body of Christ as it does through learning.

“Search the Scriptures.” John 5:39

The Greek word here rendered search signifies a strict, close, diligent, curious search, such as men make when they are seeking gold, or hunters when they are in earnest after game. We must not rest content with having given a superficial reading to a chapter or two, but with the candle of the Spirit we must deliberately seek out the hidden meaning of the word.

Holy Scripture requires searching—much of it can only be learned by careful study. There is milk for babes, but also meat for strong men. The rabbis wisely say that a mountain of matter hangs upon every word, yea, upon every title of Scripture. Tertullian exclaims, “I adore the fulness of the Scriptures.” No man who merely skims the book of God can profit thereby; we must dig and mine until we obtain the hid treasure.

The door of the word only opens to the key of diligence. The Scriptures claim searching. They are the writings of God, bearing the divine stamp and imprimatur—who shall dare to treat them with levity? He who despises them despises the God who wrote them. God forbid that any of us should leave our Bibles to become swift witnesses against us in the great day of account.

The word of God will repay searching. God does not bid us sift a mountain of chaff with here and there a grain of wheat in it, but the Bible is winnowed corn—we have but to open the granary door and find it. Scripture grows upon the student. It is full of surprises. Under the teaching of the Holy Spirit, to the searching eye it glows with splendour of revelation, like a vast temple paved with wrought gold, and roofed with rubies, emeralds, and all manner of gems. No merchandise like the merchandise of Scripture truth.

Lastly, the Scriptures reveal Jesus: “They are they which testify of Me.” No more powerful motive can be urged upon Bible readers than this: he who finds Jesus finds life, heaven, all things. Happy he who, searching his Bible, discovers his Saviour.

Beloved, when we read the Word but don’t allow it to drive us to action we are not living up to the life we are call to live (Repeated).

Being a disciple of Christ does include a lot of learning- the Word disciple even means student. But discipleship is less about sitting in a classroom and having information transferred to you. That underestimated the power of the Holy Spirit in discipleship. He doesn’t just bring people to Christ and then leave the rest up to us. His work is much greater. Becoming more like Christ doesn’t take place only when someone is teaching you about the Bible, it also happens when you are serving someone in need and using your gifts.

Tell Jesus to help you to reflect His love and grace to the world around you. Ask Him to help you to find ways to put into practice the things you learn in His Word. Pray to that you will a doer not just a hearer.

Pray that you commit to making the bible a daily part of your growth and also want to see its impact in the lives of those around you.

On this note we declare this week open and blessed and we will return at the end to give testimonies in Jesus Name.

Remain blessed in the Lord
