How excellent is your Name O Lord, how excellent is Your Name 3x O Lord. There is none Holy as the Lord, there is no besides him, neither is there any power like my God. there is none holy as the Lord.

Faithful God, indeed there is none holy as my God Who dwells in holiness. Blessed be the Name of the Lord, who reigneth forever and ever. Father, we thank You, we blessed Your Holy Name, we adore You, we are grateful to You for all You are doing in the lives of Your children, for Your pleasant surprises and fulfillment that can only be found in You alone. Glory be to Your Holy Name forever.

Beloved, in God is our sufficiency in Him we have our being. Glorious God, Wonderful Redeemer, we praise Thee. What else can we say, if God be for us; who can be against us? If God declares us His; who can say no to it. Therefore, let us rejoice and be glad in Him for this is the day He has made. Glory be to Him forever.

We saw the Lord taking us as His inheritance in our yesterday’s devotional. It gladdened my heart but I don’t know about you? Today, it becoming more interesting, I am declaring “the Lord is my portion or do I say “we,” are you in it with me?

Wow! He first loved us, that He claimed us to Himself, His love for us made Him to sacrifice His best for you. His declaration made us the choicest vine among the grove, what a wonderful election from the Throne where rigging is not allowed nor bribery permitted. Praise God.

Therefore, if you are declaring the God Who made heaven and earth, the One Who is and is Yet to come your Portion then come with me as we have more to consume:

“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul.” Lamentations 3:24

It is not “The Lord is partly my portion,” nor “The Lord is in my portion”; but He Himself makes up the sum total of my soul’s inheritance. Within the circumference of that circle lies all that we possess or desire. The Lord is my portion. Not His grace merely, nor His love, nor His covenant, but Jehovah Himself. He has chosen us for His portion, and we have chosen Him for ours. It is true that the Lord must first choose our inheritance for us, or else we shall never choose it for ourselves; but if we are really called according to the purpose of electing love, we can sing—

“Lov’d of my God for Him again

With love intense I burn;

Chosen of Him ere time began,

I choose Him in return.”

The Lord is our all-sufficient portion. God fills Himself; and if God is all-sufficient in Himself, He must be all-sufficient for us. It is not easy to satisfy man’s desires. When he dreams that he is satisfied, anon he wakes to the perception that there is somewhat yet beyond, and straightway the horse-leech in his heart cries, “Give, give.”

But all that we can wish for is to be found in our divine portion, so that we ask, “Whom have I in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee.” Well may we “delight ourselves in the Lord” who makes us to drink of the river of His pleasures.

Our faith stretches her wings and mounts like an eagle into the heaven of divine love as to her proper dwelling-place. “The lines have fallen to us in pleasant places; yea, we have a goodly heritage.” Let us rejoice in the Lord always; let us show to the world that we are a happy and a blessed people, and thus induce them to exclaim, “We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”

Yes! People will see you and want to be with you because they know that God is with you. That should be their declaration. Potiphar and the prison warders declared it about Joseph (Gen 39:2-5;20-23). King Saul said that also about David also (1Sam 20:29-31; 24:16-21). When God is with you, you will be a blessing (Gen 12:2-3).

We are also going to see one woman who trusted God against all odd when everything has gone brassier she trusted the God of the mother in law and it came to past that God did not neglect nor forsake her as the world would think (2 Pet 3:9).

He honoured her trust in the Lord and made her part of Messianic lineage. Beloved, come as we see the wonders of the Lord prepared for those you only place the help and hope in the Lord:

“She gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.” Ruth 2:3

Her hap was. Yes, it seemed nothing but an accident, but how divinely was it overruled! Ruth had gone forth with her mother’s blessing, under the care of her mother’s God, to humble but honourable toil, and the providence of God was guiding her every step. Little did she know that amid the sheaves she would find a husband, that he should make her the joint owner of all those broad acres, and that she a poor foreigner should become one of the progenitors of the great Messiah.

God is very good to those who trust in Him, and often surprises them with unlooked for blessings. Little do we know what may happen to us tomorrow, but this sweet fact may cheer us, that no good thing shall be withheld. Chance is banished from the faith of Christians, for they see the hand of God in everything. The trivial events of today or tomorrow may involve consequences of the highest importance. O Lord, deal as graciously with Thy servants as Thou didst with Ruth.

How blessed would it be, if, in wandering in the field of meditation to-night, our hap should be to light upon the place where our next Kinsman will reveal Himself to us! O Spirit of God, guide us to Him. We would sooner glean in His field than bear away the whole harvest from any other. O for the footsteps of His flock, which may conduct us to the green pastures where He dwells!

This is a weary world when Jesus is away—we could better do without sun and moon that without Him—but how divinely fair all things become in the glory of His presence! Our souls know the virtue which dwells in Jesus, and can never be content without Him. We will wait in prayer this night until our hap shall be to light on a part of the field belonging to Jesus wherein He will manifest Himself to us.

Beloved, what a blessedness…., Ruth was counted as among those who said “who hath believed our report?” up until now we are still talking about her, what happened to Orpah? Nobody knew, but Ruth tenacity in the God of the Israel made her a winner in the mist of crushing, harsh and fail economy of Naomi, God Who never forsake the poor and the widow showed up.

Beloved, do not lose hope even in that hopeless situation the Lord of Host is still able to do something. Don’t forget He created everything out of nothing but a “spoken Word”.  I tell you in that situation that is crushing you down, God is speaking to it right now.

All you need do is to be still and listen. You will come out of it. You definitely will, only be still and fret not nor murmur again. The Lord will indeed visit you and make you glad Isa 35:1- 10. Never forget you are His portion and He is Yours also (2 Cor 3:2-5 Eph 1:3- 12; Gal 5:1).

Remain blessed in the Lord.
