O! The King of kings, ancient of days, who is like unto thee, Father there is none liked thee. You are indeed a Father to all who trust in You; for none who call by Your name will be forsaken by You. Glory to Your name Amen!

Yesterday, the fathers were celebrated all over the world during the father’s day celebration. The roles of fathers cannot be swop neither can it be neglected. In Prov 4:1-4, King Solomon pointed out the advisory roles of fathers in the life of their children.

Col 3:21 also addressed father’s relationship with their children, the roles of fathers are unlimited and inexhaustible as long as the child lives, if the father is alive he still a child and the father remains the father. Let’s consider a man that had a godly influence among other things in the life of his children:

Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you [alone] are righteous before Me in this generation.”—Genesis 7:1

The children of Noah faced a significant decision. They lived in a world where everyone blatantly disregarded God. Wickedness was the norm. No one would have condemned Noah’s sons for living evil lives like the rest of society—no one except their father.

In a world rampant with ungodly attitudes and every form of wicked behavior, they were fortunate to be Noah’s sons. When their father invited them to spend the next hundred years building an ark in obedience to a word from God, Noah’s sons had to choose whether to believe those around them or to trust their father. They chose to join their father.

What a wonderful testimony of Noah’s godly influence in his home! How fortunate for Shem, Ham, and Japheth that their father refused to compromise his integrity, even though everyone else in his society had done so.

Your life has an influence on those around you as well. Your spouse and your children are profoundly affected by your choices. Your coworkers, your neighbors, and your friends will all be impacted by your life.

As the world tries to persuade people to follow its standard, your life should stand in stark contrast as an example of a righteous person. Your life should convince those around you of the wisdom of following God. Do not underestimate the positive effect that your obedience will have upon those close to you.

Are you having a godly influence in the life of your children or are you allowing them to choose their own course in life that will be a problem to you later in life.  As men plays the role of father’s to their children so also do they shoulder the responsibilities of  husband to their wives. However, the combination of these tasks might be cumbersome if not guided by the Holy Spirit. The bible commanded one woman to one man; therefore a real man is expected to be the husband of one wife. In case you are having problem in this area, some points below will guide and keep you in check. Read further:

How To Remain A “One Woman Man”

The Scriptures require spiritual leaders to be a “One woman man. (1 Timothy 3:2). Here are a few suggestions that may prove helpful:

EYES — Remember the song, “I Only Have Eyes for You? We must determine to only “look at our wives. Lustful gazes are acts of adultery. (Matthew 5:29; Job 31:1)

C. S. Lewis said, “If you look at ham and eggs with lust, you already have committed breakfast.

EARS — How easily we can be sexually stimulated by what we hear. Proverbs cautions us, “For the lips of an adulterous drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil.” (Proverbs 5:3)

LIPS — A man committed to his wife does not flatter other women: “Whoever flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet. (Proverbs 29:5)

HANDS — Paul admonishes us to “Treatyounger women as sisters, with absolute purity. (1 Timothy 5:2). The manner in which we relate physically to our sisters should serve as a guideline in our association with other women.

FEET — We can easily identify with the statement, “I can resist anything but temptation. Perhaps that’s why the Scriptures warn us to “Flee youthful lusts… “ (2 Timothy 2:22a)

David stood and looked at naked Bathsheba and ended up committing adultery and murder. By contrast, Joseph fled Potifer’s seductive wife and remained pure. (2 Samuel 11; Genesis 39)

MIND — It is only by the renewing of the mind that we can expect to live a pure life: “Let God re-mold your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good… “ (Romans 12:2b – Philips Translation) God’s Word is central to the renewal process.

QUESTION: Are you allowing anything into your mind that is making the renewal process unnecessarily difficult?

HEART — Wise old Solomon cautioned us, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)

Thus, emotional involvement with a person of the opposite sex is often an early step in the process that culminates in the act of adultery.

QUESTION: Does your present attitude and pattern of behavior indicate a deep resolve to remain a “ONE WOMAN MAN?

I pray that the men of this generation will be real men indeed; fearing and serving the Lord with gladness. I pray also that the works of their hands be blessed and yields increase to their home and body of Christ. May they be real men indeed. And after this life here on earth, may they part take of the glorious destiny prepared for those that overcome by the blood and the words of their mouth.

Above all ask God to enable you. Finally forward to anyone you know that will benefit from it.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
