Beloveth Friday is here again, are you happy, of course I am usually excited on Friday first, is a gate way to my rest day and secondly it my day of practical. So you see why I am excited aside the first reason, I think is more of the second reason because it enables me to examine my life and see where I need to touch up so as live pleasing and acceptable to my first Lord, our Lord Jesus Christ.

This session of our teaching beams light on our ways of live and point us to corrections that is so important and crucial to making it eternal. Beloveth, we must pay attention to how we live our lives especially at this time when it is a challenge to live as a Christian in the midst of perverse society that profane the Name of God. When godliness is looked down upon because of value placed on wealth and possessions. Then the big question is ‘what shall the righteous do,’ Praise the Lord!

Beloveth, we must make sure that we keep to terms of contract. Stand firm on the teachings of our Lord Jesus, look steadily on Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, Praise the Lord!

As a child of God never you consider the gains of wicked or the ways unrighteous because in so doing you may fall. You will start evaluating your life as against the unrighteous, your accrual and where you cannot establish it faster you may backslid. That is why the psalmist made this prayer in Ps 125:3 “for the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; that the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.’ Praise the Lord!

King Solomon in the book of Proverb 4:23 said “keep Thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Beloveth, the Holy God called us to a life of holiness and must ask for help to always live holy, that we might not sin against Him and we shall also be fruitful so that our fruit must abide. Praise the Lord!

A life of obedience is what God requires from us not our fat- givens or offerings as we also read in out text of today’s teaching. the prophet told Saul “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

Beloveth, how obedient are you to the commandments of God? do you diligent obey the instructions of God despite it pains or hurt you go through doing it.

We are not discounting the fact to obeying God does not have challenges such as keeping away friends even believers far from you that is loneliness even in the midst of many. It will cost you something to keep tune with God’s commandments than what can you do?

You must focus on God alone and Him alone. Do not look to the left or to the right but looking steadily unto Jesus, Your Model, Saviour, Messiah,.

Disobedient made Saul to lose his throne and that of our mother Eve, brought chaos into the world that God made and proclaimed good…. May God help us all always to obey Him. Keep His commandments and follow Him duly doing all He commanded us to do in Jesus  Name.

Come along for more:

“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice.” 1 Samuel 15:22

Saul had been commanded to slay utterly all the Amalekites and their cattle. Instead of doing so, he preserved the king, and suffered his people to take the best of the oxen and of the sheep. When called to account for this, he declared that he did it with a view of offering sacrifice to God; but Samuel met him at once with the assurance that sacrifices were no excuse for an act of direct rebellion.

The sentence before us is worthy to be printed in letters of gold, and to be hung up before the eyes of the present idolatrous generation, who are very fond of the fineries of will-worship, but utterly neglect the laws of God.

Be it ever in your remembrance, that to keep strictly in the path of your Saviour’s command is better than any outward form of religion; and to hearken to His precept with an attentive ear is better than to bring the fat of rams, or any other precious thing to lay upon His altar.

If you are failing to keep the least of Christ’s commands to His disciples, I pray you be disobedient no longer. All the pretensions you make of attachment to your Master, and all the devout actions which you may perform, are no recompense for disobedience. “To obey,” even in the slightest and smallest thing, “is better than sacrifice,” however pompous.

Talk not of Gregorian chants, sumptuous robes, incense, and banners; the first thing which God requires of His child is obedience; and though you should give your body to be burned, and all your goods to feed the poor, yet if you do not hearken to the Lord’s precepts, all your formalities shall profit you nothing.

It is a blessed thing to be teachable as a little child, but it is a much more blessed thing when one has been taught the lesson, to carry it out to the letter. How many adorn their temples and decorate their priests, but refuse to obey the word of the Lord! My soul, come not thou into their secret.

Let us humble ourselves before God and ask the Spirit of God to search our heart if there is any iniquity in it so that we may confess it and ask the Holy Spirit to obey every instructions and commandments from God.

Please note that obeying the law does not make you righteous but trusting on the Finished work of Calvary where Christ has already won the victory for you so that you are not living your own righteous but the righteous of Christ, amen somebody!  (1 Jn. 4, Eph 1, 1 Jn 2:1-29)

May God help us to be all He has made us to be in Jesus Name. ‘The lots of the wickedness will not rest on our own lots so that we will not lift up our hand to do evil…. in Jesus Name Amen!!!

Let us examine our life dearly beloved and obey God in all His percepts and it shall be well with us in Jesus Name Amen. God was displeased with Saul; may Him never be displeased with us in Jesus Name.
