Glory, glory, Lord, we give You glory Lord; Glory, glory Lord, You are a Mighty God. I feel like clapping; I feel like jumping. I feel like dancing, I feel like shouting, He is turning me around, He place my feet upon a solid Rock. I feel like dancing, I feel like jumping.

Blessed Redeemer, we thank You, we honour You for such a time like this. Glorious Father, thank You for Your victory that is over and above all that You made. Let Your Name Alone be praised for ever and ever Amen.

You are God forever more. We bow at Your throne. Receive all our praise Lord. Receive all honour, thank You for sustaining us in thick and thin of this season Lord (1 Cor 15:57). We come to say thank You.

Beloved, wow! We are almost there, we won’t give up, no matter what the challenge may be, let us look up to the Lord, He is our Maker, our El-Shaddai, He is our Beginning; our End.

We must keeping going higher, every day, no loitering; no waiting; no stopping; no resting; keep matching on. That must be our disposition in this end time. Resting may be dangerous it may claim our life, even our victory.

In 1 King 13:1- 24 was a story of a prophet having received a word from the Lord, delivered same to the king. He carried out the assignment as he was instructed, no eating; no drinking, don’t come back the same way, all this he did but in his resting when he was not supposed to be resting, he fell into the snare of the enemy. He gave in to the craving of his flesh which he had earlier resisted.  He was deceived by a supposedly old colleague.

Listen, the prophet received message from the Lord but the old prophet received from the angel and that override the Word he received from the Lord.

Beloved, we must be very careful on this race and daily ask God to help us to live out His will in our life. Let Him continually guide us and help us not go the wrong way nor give up easily on His commandments.

Beloved, to us, the Redeemed of the Lord, Defeat will never be an option for us. We will not give up on our children, marriage, our spouse, our career, our business, above all our pursuit of eternal life, we must not surrender them to defeat, God helping me, what about you?

Come with me as we consider an interesting personality that was not only battered by life events but lost several times to secure a seat at different levels of government but his refusal to give in to his failures, call it his defects eventually got him a seat at the highest level of leadership position in his country because he refused to surrender to his failures until he eventually learnt through them and emerged a ‘WINNER” at the end.

He finished well and strong, are you determined to do same? Come, as we remind our self again through the account of Apostle Paul what it takes to be a winner, “persistence, perseverance, diligence and God.”

Defeat? Not Even An Option!

Today, are you on the brink of sinking into defeat? Then consider Paul’s plight:

“Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.” (2 Corinthians 11:24-27)

And what was Paul’s response to life’s would be “defeats”? “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10)

 Defeat? Not even an option!

Abraham Lincoln ignored “defeat” on his road to becoming America’s most beloved and greatest President:

 Failed in business in 1831

 Defeated for Legislature in 1832

Second failure in business in 1833

 Suffered nervous breakdown in 1836

 Defeated for Speaker in 1838

 Defeated for election in 1840

 Defeated for Congress in 1848

 Defeated for Senate in 1855

Defeated for Vice President in 1856

 Defeated for Senate in 1858

 Elected for President in 1860

 Defeat? Not even an option!

Perhaps the birds have it best figured out: “Said the Robin to the Sparrow: I should really like to know why these anxious humans rush about and worry so. Said the Sparrow to the Robin, Friend, I think that it must be that they have no heavenly Father such as cares for you and me.‘” (Elizabeth Cheney)

So today, choose to rest your hand in His as He grants you victory out of the jaws of defeat. “Though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises againA righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” (Proverbs 24:16a; Psalm 34:19)

 Defeat? Not even an option!

Beloved, where are you contesting or contemplating to give in. I have many testimonies to share with you but time will not permit me. God has persistently giving me victory even when I cannot see but believed Him. I am of the resolved that I will not give up until I sing the victory song at last, what about you? Hold on to the victory Christ had already won on the cross for us. Look unto Jesus the finisher of our faith and you will sing victory at last. At the end “it will end in Praise.”

“The breaker is come up before them.” Micah 2:13

Inasmuch as Jesus has gone before us, things remain not as they would have been had He never passed that way. He has conquered every foe that obstructed the way. Cheer up now thou faint-hearted warrior. Not only has Christ travelled the road, but He has slain thine enemies.

Dost thou dread sin? He has nailed it to His cross. Dost thou fear death? He has been the death of Death. Art thou afraid of hell? He has barred it against the advent of any of His children; they shall never see the gulf of perdition.

Whatever foes may be before the Christian, they are all overcome. There are lions, but their teeth are broken; there are serpents, but their fangs are extracted; there are rivers, but they are bridged or fordable; there are flames, but we wear that matchless garment which renders us invulnerable to fire.

The sword that has been forged against us is already blunted; the instruments of war which the enemy is preparing have already lost their point. God has taken away in the person of Christ all the power that anything can have to hurt us. Well then, the army may safely march on, and you may go joyously along your journey, for all your enemies are conquered beforehand.

What shall you do but March on to take the prey? They are beaten, they are vanquished; all you have to do is to divide the spoil. You shall, it is true, often engage in combat; but your fight shall be with a vanquished foe. His head is broken; he may attempt to injure you, but his strength shall not be sufficient for his malicious design. Your victory shall be easy, and your treasure shall be beyond all count.

“Proclaim aloud the Saviour’s fame,

Who bears the Breaker’s wond’rous name;

Sweet name; and it becomes him well,

Who breaks down earth, sin, death, and hell.”

Yes! This is a sure victory over our foes by the Lord Jesus Christ, let us take full advantage of it and never say “Yes” to defeat but maintain “NO” all the way. Praise the Lord.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
