O Lord give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us and lead us not into temptation but delivery us from all danger we pray in Jesus Name.

Thank You Lord for week another day You have made and enable us to showcase Your glory, blessed be thy Holy Name forever and ever. Faithful God we Thank You and we honour You forever and ever.

Beloveth, greetings from the Throne of grace this morning. How was your weekend? How about your Sunday worship? We are glad to welcome you into God’s presence this is day and am sure you will have testimony as the day go by of God will do for you through this ministration in Jesus Name.

Have you ever taking out time to ask how did we get here, having read the wonders of creation, …and God said, “let there be…. and was….’’ Have you asked either yourself or your pastor or Sunday school teacher, how did we get to where we are now, because God said that “ everything He made was good” then what went wrong? How come everything is almost opposite of what God said?

One thing is sure beloved, “God can not lie.” God is known with excellence. God’s word endureth forever. Then what happen?

We are going to take a trip to Genesis chapter three reading from verse one to seven.

Satan having been cast down to earth and knowing what await him at the end of time decided to deceive man so that he will get some men to go with him to his everlasting damnation.

He engaged our first mother Eve in discussion which resulted in seeking knowledge above what God planned for man. He deceived her into believing that man can actually be like God. The suggestion appeared very good to man and man decided to take an adventure. Then atlast here we are, thrown out of garden of Eden and in place of man Cherubims and a flaming sword was place at the east of the garden to protect the tree of life (Gen 3:22-24).

When I was much younger, I use to ask ‘why did God not intervene in the discussion?’ At least, He would have save the situation and the trouble that follows therein. The truth is that God cannot violate His word. (Gen 1:26-28; Jn 10:18).

After creation, God granted man the freedom to operate therefore He cannot go back on His Word. Our Lord Jesus confirms that in the following passage of the bible Jn 10:18 and apostle Paul also warned us to be careful with freedom we received from God 1pet 2:16; .

Let us contrast the scene we have in Genesis 3:1-7 and the Matthew 4:1-11.

What can you say or make out of two scenario? Let us take it step by step read Matt 4 vs 3 and Gen 3 vs 1. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Then consider this ‘He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’? let compare the answers given in both scenario ‘But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God’.//  The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. 3 But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.’

What was the answer given by Satan to Eve ““No! You will not die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

However, Satan presented three different situations to Jesus and each He answered with ‘it is written’. However, Jesus said to him to get thee hence Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

And what Satan do after that he left him and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Beloved, it is important we know what is written in the book of life lest we fall victim to the antics of Satan. As a parents we should know what our children are up. As a husband, as a wife do you know what your spouse is up to?

Jesus knew who He is in God’s plan therefore do not need to prove anything to anybody talk less of proving anything to satan.

Satan is in the habit of making us to prove ourselves before God and that was why Eve fell. We must watch our activities and utterance lest we fall into temptation.

Jesus meekness made Him to resist Satan and go on with the plan of salvation as it was given Him by His Father -Jn 10:18.

The wisdom of God is also given to us through Jesus Christ, beloved, will we be humbly enough to learn from Him as He instructed us to (Matt 11:29).

Come let us discover more from today’s teaching:

Woe to those who call evil good

and good evil,

who substitute darkness for light

and light for darkness,

who substitute bitter for sweet

and sweet for bitter.—Isaiah 5:20

It is Satan’s practice to convince people that what God calls good is actually evil and what God declares evil is, in fact, good. Satan persuaded Adam and Eve that their disobedience, rather than their obedience, would guarantee a full life. They believed him and immediately began to experience sin’s consequences! Despite the absurdity of Satan’s logic, he continues to deceive people into doubting what God has clearly said.

King Saul sought Samuel’s affirmation for the sacrifice he had offered, even though he had acted in direct disobedience to God’s command (1 Sam. 15:13). Ananias and Sapphira expected praise from the early church for their offering, though they were blatantly lying (Acts 5:1–11). An Amalekite soldier sought David’s gratitude for killing Saul, God’s anointed king (2 Sam. 1:1–16).

We, too, will face the temptation to call something good that God has declared wicked. We may be persuaded that we can accomplish more good by lying than by telling the truth. We may claim that we are mobilizing Christians to pray for someone in sin when, in fact, we are spreading gossip.

We may assert that we are following God’s will in our job when, in fact, we are striving to pursue our own ambitions. We will also be tempted to call evil that which God declares is good. God says it is good to love our enemies, yet we might decide our task is to hold them responsible for their actions.

It is so important to hold ourselves accountable to God’s word. God does not need us to find exceptions for His commands. He requires our obedience.

Let’s continue:

“Who of God is made unto us wisdom.” 1Corinthians 1:30

Man’s intellect seeks after rest, and by nature seeks it apart from the Lord Jesus Christ. Men of education are apt, even when converted, to look upon the simplicities of the cross of Christ with an eye too little reverent and loving. They are snared in the old net in which the Grecians were taken, and have a hankering to mix philosophy with revelation.

The temptation with a man of refined thought and high education is to depart from the simple truth of Christ crucified, and to invent, as the term is, a more intellectual doctrine. This led the early Christian churches into Gnosticism, and bewitched them with all sorts of heresies. This is the root of Neology, and the other fine things which in days gone by were so fashionable in Germany, and are now so ensnaring to certain classes of divines.

Whoever you are, good reader, and whatever your education may be, if you be the Lord’s, be assured you will find no rest in philosophizing divinity. You may receive this dogma of one great thinker, or that dream of another profound reasoner, but what the chaff is to the wheat, that will these be to the pure word of God.

All that reason, when best guided, can find out is but the A B C of truth, and even that lacks certainty, while in Christ Jesus there is treasured up all the fulness of wisdom and knowledge. All attempts on the part of Christians to be content with systems such as Unitarian and Broad-church thinkers would approve of, must fail; true heirs of heaven must come back to the grandly simple reality which makes the ploughboy’s eye flash with joy, and glads the pious pauper’s heart—”Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.”

Jesus satisfies the most elevated intellect when He is believingly received, but apart from Him the mind of the regenerate discovers no rest. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” “A good understanding have all they that do His commandments.”

Beloved, be careful what knowledge you seek. So many have gone astray in quest of knowledge and many are still seeking knowledge outside the Word of God as it is written. Beloved, be careful also what with what we associate ourselves with.

Try to find out what the Word of God is calling evil but you are calling it good and vice versa.

Beloved, this week is declare blessed in Jesus Name. Have a wonderful encounters in the market places and return on Friday with Your testimonies in Jesus Name.

May the Lord cause every devourer of future to stumble and die in Jesus Name. You will finish strong in the Name of Jesus. You destiny will not be aborted in Jesus Name. Have a blessed week ahead in Jesus Name.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
