Beloved there are things about our past that we should forget, but there are also things that we should remember. God often tell us to remember (Isa 46:9). Because He knows that we prone to forget. Here are three things to remember that will help you to get through tough times:
First- Remember who you are:
In Christ Jesus are all children of God through faith (Gal 3:26). We are not abounded orphans. No matter how sad you may be, remember that you are a child God. No matter how high the temptation maybe, always remember you are a child of God. You can trust Your Father in heaven.
Secondly- Remember who you belong to.
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine (Isa 43:1). You belong to God. You can only ever suffer as much as He allows, and He will always be right there with you in the midst of the storm.
Thirdly- Remember where you are going.
Our citizen is in heaven. And we are eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ (Phil 3:20).
Whatever you go through in this world is only a fleeting moment in the light of eternity. Remember that you belong to heaven and not to this world. Remember that you have a Saviour and His Name is Jesus. This world is like an obstacle course that tries to make us forget. We are only safe when we remember Jesus (Col 1:27).
What is your memory like? Memory can be developed through training and discipline. What can you do in your life to strengthen your memory of the spiritual realities in your life at the moment?
Come and discovery more below:
“On Him they laid the cross, that He might bear it after Jesus.” Luke 23:26
We see in Simon’s carrying the cross a picture of the work of the Church throughout all generations; she is the cross-bearer after Jesus. Mark then, Christian, Jesus does not suffer so as to exclude your suffering. He bears a cross, not that you may escape it, but that you may endure it. Christ exempts you from sin, but not from sorrow. Remember that, and expect to suffer.
But let us comfort ourselves with this thought, that in our case, as in Simon’s, it is not our cross, but Christ’s cross which we carry. When you are molested for your piety; when your religion brings the trial of cruel mockings upon you, then remember it is not your cross, it is Christ’s cross; and how delightful is it to carry the cross of our Lord Jesus!
You carry the cross after Him. You have blessed company; your path is marked with the footprints of your Lord. The mark of His blood-red shoulder is upon that heavy burden. ‘Tis His cross, and He goes before you as a shepherd goes before his sheep. Take up your cross daily, and follow Him.
Do not forget, also, that you bear this cross in partnership. It is the opinion of some that Simon only carried one end of the cross, and not the whole of it. That is very possible; Christ may have carried the heavier part, against the transverse beam, and Simon may have borne the lighter end. Certainly it is so with you; you do but carry the light end of the cross, Christ bore the heavier end.
And remember, though Simon had to bear the cross for a very little while, it gave him lasting honour. Even so the cross we carry is only for a little while at most, and then we shall receive the crown, the glory. Surely we should love the cross, and, instead of shrinking from it, count it very dear, when it works out for us “a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
Beloved, Jesus told the disciple to keep doing this in remembrance of Him, what is it? Like we read earlier of those things we must keep remembering to guide our mind in times of uncertainty and rough times.
Rough or tough times abound in the life of a child of God but we must be tougher to get through else we give in and lose to satan. God forbid. Hold on to these profound truths from the Word of God dearly beloved and see you sailing through life as Jesus did. Carry your cross daily and follow Him. Remember you are in partnership with Him. Praise the Living Jesus!!!!!!!!
Remain blessed in the Lord.
