I am God’s project, I won’t be abandoned. I am God’s project, I won’t be abandon, my God is working on me, He will never abandon me until He finishes His process in my life. Thank You, thank You Lord, thank You Lord, thank You Lord for ever thing You have done.

We thank You for the gift of another month, the tenth month of the year. You guided us through January to February up to March into April, May came by, followed by June and July, August, September and here we are in October, glory be to Holy Name. Thank Father for Your Faithfulness.

We are not better than those that have slept in You but in Your favour You preserved us against every destruction and protected us against the workers of iniquities. You guided us through the terror of the night and shield us from the arrow that flieth by the day, Lord, You are Mighty.

Beloved, how exceeding is the grace that was bestowed on you. The Lord choose you, not of works but of His righteousness to count you worthy even when you merited it not but ‘grace’ found you and numbered you among the Redeemed of the Lord (2 Tim 1:9; Rom 11:6).

The word ‘grace’ is what every Christian should be thankful to Jesus our Saviour. Christ having gone to the cross took away our sins and reconciled us to His Father (2 Cor 5:18-19). Praise God.

We are therefore made ambassadors for Christ. Are you willing to accept this great offer? Are you ready to accept the salvation Christ wrought for you? Beloved, we are save to help bring others to God, having called us to the ministry of reconciliation.

Is the devil telling you that you are not numbered among the Redeemed? Is he reminding you who you are and what you use to do in the past. Never mind, I have good news for you, when you came to Christ, a transaction was done on your behalf, Christ exchange His place with you. He took your place and that great exchange made you a new creation behold old things passed away and everything about you became new (2 Cor 5:17). Wow!

Beloved, are you worried about the turnout of events this year?  You are yet to achieve your set target? Not to worry, though it seems as if the year is rounding up, I come to with goodnews to remind you that you can still be all God has planned for you in this year but one thing is needful. You have to be “Positive” and never allow any negative word permutes your mind or heart.  Did I say “positive?” I have a testimony to share after the first message.

The power of words can either make you or mar you depending on your responds. The Word of God for the month has gone forth again. How are you responding to it? What are those areas you need to strengthen with powerful Word of God? Where do you need to stay focused rather than allow failure to spell out your reaction?

God detest unbelief and will not tolerate it from any of his children. Believe God and the grace available for you will make you soar higher than you have ever imagine.

The Power Of Words

Alfred, a friend of mine, decided to visit Gold’s Gym. This is the place where men the size of boxcars seem to have nothing else to do but “pump iron” by the eon. As he entered, a square-jawed, muscle-bound, steel-gripping specimen grasped his hand and exclaimed, “HI! BIG GUY!”

Now Alfred, an accountant who has never lifted anything much heavier than a paperweight, thought to himself, “Is he talking to me? Does he think I am a ‘BIG GUY?'” And with that he entered Gold’s determined to do something about his sagging coat hanger-sized deltoids.

Talk about THE POWER OF WORDS!

Ever call your kid “stupid”? Or, “lazy”? Or scold him with, “Can’t you ever do anything right?” Guess what? Your words become self-fulfilling prophecies. When I was a teenager, a close relative said to me, “I don’t trust you.” And from that day on I determined to give her reason not to trust me, and I became a juvenile delinquent. Again, THE POWER OF WORDS!

Solomon drove home THE POWER OF WORDS in stating, “The tongue has the power of life and death… ” (Proverbs 18:21a)

Instead of calling the kid “stupid,” why don’t you grab him (or her) by the shoulders and say, “Wow, you are something! Am I ever proud of you! What a privilege it is for me to be your parent!” Like my friend Alfred, the kid might just decide to do something about his coat hanger-sized life and rise to your expectation. Again, THE POWER OF WORDS!

Nathaniel, upon hearing of Jesus Christ, made a derogatory remark concerning his place of birth, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Instead of retaliating, the Master drew attention to Nathaniel’s integrity, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there nothing false. And Nathaniel’s response? Instant belief: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” (John 1:45-51) Clearly, Jesus understood and demonstrated THE POWER OF WORDS.

Paul appreciated THE POWER OF WORDS in asserting, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs… ” (Ephesians 4:29a)

QUESTION: When was the last time you used THE POWER OF WORDS to build up your spouse with a kind word, or a note of encouragement? Or an employee? Or a colleague? Or one of your kids? Silence – saying nothing – is usually interpreted negatively by others as anger, indifference or disapproval… As anything but affirmation.

The behemoth at Gold’s Gym understands THE POWER OF WORDS!

Do you? (adapted from FOTM) Have you answered the above question?

I have a testimony as I mentioned earlier. When I was pregnant for my third child, I knew the ‘power of word’ and staying ‘positive’ on course. After the cesarean section, the anesthetic was wearing off, it is usually a traumatic period for me and that made to seek God’s face as the day was getting close. The Lord led me to Phil 4:13 ‘I can do things through Christ that strengthens me’. So on the said day after the section and the drugs are wearing off, pains took over me as usually I begged the nurse to call the doctor to inject me again but the nurse said no but later agreed to call him.

The doctor after examination said am doing well. Beloved, I was dying in pain and here is doctor saying that am doing fine and left. So I gave less thought to the pain and pay more attention on what the Word of God instead. Each turning which is particular impossible, I see myself repeating Phil 4:13 and before long I can make a move, lift myself a little while the nurse will either help me to adjust myself or any other help I may need. The section was done early in the morning either that same day or earlier in the morning the next day, after cleaning me up the nurse remove my aid for urinating, she then asked me to walk to my room.

I told the nurse, I know you are joking but she insisted that I have to move from the recovery room to my room. My husband pleading did not prevail either, beloved, I got up with so many helps and I kept this confession under my breath till I made it to my room. I thought I would either collapse or the section will torn open but none of this happened before noon I could get up and use the convenient not only that I could bath my baby which has never been before then.

Do you remember Peter’s experience in the sea (Matt 14:28-31 ) when he focused on Jesus, he walked upon the sea but when the storm took away his attention from Jesus, he began to sink. There is power in the word, all depending on how you see it or put it to use. Never doubt the word of God over an issue of concern, read more:

How long will it be ere they believe me?” Numbers 14:11

Strive with all diligence to keep out that monster unbelief. It so dishonors Christ, that He will withdraw His visible presence if we insult Him by indulging it. It is true it is a weed, the seeds of which we can never entirely extract from the soil, but we must aim at its root with zeal and perseverance.

Among hateful things it is the most to be abhorred. Its injurious nature is so venomous that he that exerciseth it and he upon whom it is exercised are both hurt thereby. In thy case, O believer! it is most wicked, for the mercies of thy Lord in the past, increase thy guilt in doubting Him now. When thou dost distrust the Lord Jesus, He may well cry out, “Behold I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.” This is crowning His head with thorns of the sharpest kind.

It is very cruel for a well-beloved wife to mistrust a kind and faithful husband. The sin is needless, foolish, and unwarranted. Jesus has never given the slightest ground for suspicion, and it is hard to be doubted by those to whom our conduct is uniformly affectionate and true. Jesus is the Son of the Highest, and has unbounded wealth; it is shameful to doubt Omnipotence and distrust all-sufficiency.

The cattle on a thousand hills will suffice for our most hungry feeding, and the granaries of heaven are not likely to be emptied by our eating. If Christ were only a cistern, we might soon exhaust His fulness, but who can drain a fountain? Myriads of spirits have drawn their supplies from Him, and not one of them has murmured at the scantiness of His resources.

Away, then, with this lying traitor unbelief, for his only errand is to cut the bonds of communion and make us mourn an absent Saviour. Bunyan tells us that unbelief has “as many lives as a cat:” if so, let us kill one life now, and continue the work till the whole nine are gone. Down with thee, thou traitor, my heart abhors thee.

I will leave you with this to meditate upon till we meet again God’s willing next week. We will be delighted to bring to you more on ‘grace’ as the Lord enables us. Have a lovely week end. I will like to hear from you by the way of encouraging us too. God bless you.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
