Great is Thy Faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see, for all that I have Lord thy hand has provided, indeed great is Thy mercies O! Lord. Thank You for Your Faithfulness. This poor man cried and You heard from heaven and delivered him from all his trouble. Since I was young and now old, I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his children begging bread. Father, You are so Great.

Be thou exalted Emmanuel; for You are the King of kings, You are Lord of lords, we therefore lift You Higher above every other gods. Blessed be Thy Name forever and ever.

My God is worthy of my praise. The quest for knowledge has led so many astray and so many are still trooping to everlasting damnation based on this. In the beginning the quest began (Gen 3:4-7), the deceiver, Satan who has not cease to deceive as many as that are simple in mind (Prov 8: 1-11; 9:4-5;9-12). Man wants to know what the Omniscience concealed from him that way many have been deceived and thousands of lives wasted, in their quest to know, they lost everything, life inclusive except for grace. At the end they will discover that they were running after shadows, with no time to redeem their wasted years, they turn against themselves and those around them.

The truth remain that God is infinite (Ps 147:5). The custodian of all powers and knowledge. Sometimes these group of individuals believed that there is no God. They think that man metamorphosed from something and they have never stop to ask, why they haven’t “human” yet metaphase into another thing many decade after the creation. They believe that goodness only will lead to “where” and to “whom” at the end they bother no to ask but go on in their folly all in the name of “great thinkers”. In the process they lose their mind as their quest is unending and their brain cells has a limited capacity to an unending search. Praise the Lord.

I believe God is speaking to someone, a reader of this devotional, who is about to embark on this endless search, I plead with you, desist least you will be consumed like others. as for you, who is already heading to destruction, I pray for you that you will be delivered by the Spirit of God, Who will grant salvation to your soul in the Name of Jesus ( 1 Jn 3:1; 2 Cor 5:17).

As God lead us, dearly beloved, He will guide us into the righteous path and will ensure our goings. As a good Shepherd will He lead us and guide us into the righteousness in Christ Jesus:

“Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea?” Job 38:16

Some things in nature must remain a mystery to the most intelligent and enterprising investigators. Human knowledge has bounds beyond which it cannot pass. Universal knowledge is for God alone. If this be so in the things which are seen and temporal, I may rest assured that it is even more so in matters spiritual and eternal.

Why, then, have I been torturing my brain with speculations as to destiny and will, fixed fate, and human responsibility? These deep and dark truths I am no more able to comprehend than to find out the depth which coucheth beneath, from which old ocean draws her watery stores. Why am I so curious to know the reason of my Lord’s providences, the motive of His actions, the design of His visitations?

Shall I ever be able to clasp the sun in my fist, and hold the universe in my palm? yet these are as a drop of a bucket compared with the Lord my God. Let me not strive to understand the infinite, but spend my strength in love. What I cannot gain by intellect I can possess by affection, and let that suffice me. I cannot penetrate the heart of the sea, but I can enjoy the healthful breezes which sweep over its bosom, and I can sail over its blue waves with propitious winds.

If I could enter the springs of the sea, the feat would serve no useful purpose either to myself or to others, it would not save the sinking bark, or give back the drowned mariner to his weeping wife and children; neither would my solving deep mysteries avail me a single whit, for the least love to God, and the simplest act of obedience to Him, are better than the profoundest knowledge.

My Lord, I leave the infinite to Thee, and pray Thee to put far from me such a love for the tree of knowledge as might keep me from the tree of life (Ps 147:5).

Beloved, the Word of God in proverbs speaks so much about “Wisdom”. Profaned Wisdom is what you need as directed by the God Almighty, so go after it. Anything short of it, you are heading to everlasting damnation therefore beware, lest yea are destroyed (1 Cor 1:23; 2 Cor 2:17; 2 Cor 3:4-6; Jas 1:5).

Jesus is our Wisdom (2 Cor 1:30) why seek yea another? This generation, Jesus called perverse generation, let us come seeking to know Him and His fullness and every other thing will be added unto us:

“Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.” John 4:48

A craving after marvels was a symptom of the sickly state of men’s minds in our Lord’s Day; they refused solid nourishment, and pined after mere wonder. The gospel which they so greatly needed they would not have; the miracles which Jesus did not always choose to give they eagerly demanded.

Many nowadays must see signs and wonders, or they will not believe. Some have said in their heart, “I must feel deep horror of soul, or I never will believe in Jesus.” But what if you never should feel it, as probably you never may? Will you go to hell out of spite against God, because He will not treat you like another? One has said to himself, “If I had a dream, or if I could feel a sudden shock of I know not what, then I would believe.” Thus you undeserving mortals dream that my Lord is to be dictated to by you!

You are beggars at His gate, asking for mercy, and you must needs draw up rules and regulations as to how He shall give that mercy. Think you that He will submit to this? My Master is of a generous spirit, but He has a right royal heart, He spurns all dictation, and maintains His sovereignty of action. Why, dear reader, if such be your case, do you crave for signs and wonders?

Is not the gospel its own sign and wonder? Is not this a miracle of miracles, that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him might not perish”? Surely that precious word, “Whosoever will, let him come and take the water of life freely” and that solemn promise, “Him that cometh unto Me, I will in no wise cast out,” are better than signs and wonders!

A truthful Saviour ought to be believed. He is truth itself. Why will you ask proof of the veracity of One who cannot lie? The devils themselves declared Him to be the Son of God; will you mistrust Him?

Remain blessed in the Lord.
