He is Mighty and Great, the Creator of the whole universe, The I AM that I AM, He is the Beginning and the End. The Great I AM He is Omnipotent, Omnipresence, Omniscience God, through Him all things were made, things seen and unseen, Great and Might is our God.

Yesterday we saw God the Creator, and today by the grace of God we will be seeing of the nature of God.

When you say that something is natural, it means that thing is in its original state, no adulteration. It has not been modify or counterfeited. It means that such thing is still genuine, Praise the Lord!

When we see God in His natural state we see love, Kindness, Goodness, Mercy, we see a graceful God, we see a Holy God, beloved that is the God we are going to study today, a Holy God.

In many places in the bible we see a Holy God, who do not want anything impure close to Him. He commanded His priest to be Holy likewise all the prophets and His choose one pure. God as a matter of command want all His worshippers to be Holy as He is. Are you Holy? Are you sanctified? If you are not, it is never too late to make amend. Behold this is an acceptable time to purge yourself of all unrighteousness and present yourself as an acceptable sacrifice unto God (Lev 11:44, Lev 18:20).

Beloved, what are the things that can defile a man? The book of Leviticus and some books of the bible have it written down about the holiness demand of us from God. things that can a man ranges from serving idols, making offerings to idols and in the high places, generally speaking a man defiles Himself when he transgress against God (Ezek 14:11, 20:7,18, Mk 7:18-23).

Did you read the book of mark up there? Things that defile a man come from within and not outside of him. we are enjoin to be Holy as our heavenly Father is, we must not defile our body because we are the temple of God for God’s temple must be Holy of which we are (1Cor 3:17, 23; 2Cor7:1).

Apostle Paul made a bold utterance about himself (which is a text following our main text today) having lived a life that is upright even before the people he ministered to? can we make the same declaration in our places of work and service? Can we say boldly we wrong no man, we have corrupted no man, neither have we defrauded no man (2 Cor 7:2).

Beloved, we are call to be Holy, we are called to maintain integrity, and we must not defile our garment or else will not enter into the kingdom of God at the end (1 Tim 1: 5-11, Rev 3:4).

We must live righteously. Where we are weak, we must call on the Holy Spirit to help our infirmities, we must be an ensign to others who are yet to come to the light of the gospel, we must live above condemnation if we understand what the teaching we are taking today is saying.

We are to be Holy as our Father is also Holy. We must live a sanctify life, else we will not be an acceptable sacrifice before God (Rom 12:1-2). Praise the Lord!

Holiness Is Healthiness

Let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit, completing our sanctification in the fear of God.—2 Corinthians 7:1

When we study the Scriptures, particularly the Old Testament, we find that those who got closest to God thought more of His holiness than any other thing. Why should this be? I think in the nature of things it cannot be any other way because, more than anything else, God wants us to be holy. Over and over again in the Bible we are told: “Be holy because I am holy.” We are not directed to be omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-wise) as God is, but we are to be holy. This is the prime way of honoring God. We do not glorify Him by eloquent expressions of pompous service but by aspiring to converse with Him with unstained spirits and live to Him in living like Him.

Are you seeking to be holy? God has made holiness the moral condition necessary to the health of His universe. Sin’s temporary presence in the world only accentuates this. Whatever is holy is healthy, and evil is a moral sickness that must ultimately end in death. The formation of the language itself suggest this, the English word “holy” deriving from the Anglo-Saxon halig, meaning “well” or “whole”. To be whole in Christian terms means to be holy. Can you say “I am holy—truly holy”? I am afraid I can’t. I don’t think any honest Christian would say “yes” to that question. But neither would any honest Christian ignore these solemn words: “Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness—without it no one will see the Lord” (Heb 12:14).

Prayer

O Father, help me to be as concerned for the moral health of the universe as You are. But more, help me to focus first on my own moral health and to be rid of all in my life that is contrary to You and Your nature. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.

Lk 1:67-80; 2Pt 3:11; 2Co 7:1

Why has God raised up a horn of salvation?

What kind of people ought we to be?

Did you read that that God holiness is healthiness? Evil is moral sickness that must ultimately end in death. Do you want to well and whole? Then you must be Holy.

Can you say boldly as you are reading this piece having examined yourself that you are Holy? We are not here to condemn anybody, our mission is simply to prepare a people, Holy and acceptable to God at the last day. Since we do not know when this we be, we are therefore implored to live a Holy life, sanctified life, not defiling our garment ready to be accepted at the last day.

Beloved, let us pray that God will impute in us the holiness that is in Christ and make us willing to obey Him as Jesus did in Jesus Name.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
