Beloveth Praise the Name of the Lord…Alleluia… Guess what? Two great events are taking place today… Can you guess? Did I say two? Hummmmh is three ooo…

Today is Ash Wednesday and incidentally is Valentine day too… and also a day we set aside to discuss prayer – effectives and methods…. So is our prayer meeting day too… the day is loaded… wow!!!

Briefly, Ash Wednesday is a day the Christians set aside to humble ourselves before God by reminding ourselves that we were formed from dust and to dust we shall return… It is an act of contrition “Repentance”…. It is usually accompanying by “Fasting” and “Giving”… It is the beginning of Lent usually observed by                                            Roman Catholic and Anglican and some other denominations other than the Pentecostals Churches…though is open to everyone for a of Period of 40days before Easter… Praise the Name of the Lord….

However Valentine day originated as a  Christian feast day honouring a martyr named Valentine… though there are a lots of conflicting stories around it but traditional it a celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world… another story has it that they were two guys bearing same name who were preaching the good news in Rome in the third century. Emperor Claudius 11 executed them on February 14 of different years in the third century. But at the end of 5th century, Pope Gelasius declared February 14th St. Valentine Day…. And since then, February 14th has been a day of celebration- though it was generally more religion than romantic.

Well, like many conflicting information on some discuss…. Valentine’s day is one of such… but we choose to celebrate it having the love mankind in our heart….

So as we pray, we remember those that have suffering in one or the other… who have not experienced the true love which only can be found in Christ Jesus… Yes… only Christ can love you unto death…. Jn.3:16…

Such love is what we must preach to our young ones especially in the teenage years… who have wrong conception of what is being celebrated… else we have more troubles than we can handle… May God show us mercy Amen…. like we said earlier…

Today is our prayer day… we come under the mercy of God before our Father who loves us with an everlasting love…

Beloveth… where our righteousness cannot take us The Mercy of God will… The mercy shown to the undeserving like you and I… is what we came to plead today before the Throne of Mercy… and then God of mercy and hope will come to our rescue… and show us mercy…. Alleluia…

Declare with us… I am save by grace and not of righteousness… (Eph.2:4-13).

Mercy to the Undeserving

“He that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.” Ps. 32:10

O fair reward of trust! My Lord, grant it me to the full! The truster above all men feels himself to be a sinner; and lo, mercy is prepared for him: he knows himself to have no deservings, but mercy comes in, and keeps house for him on a liberal scale. o Lord, give me this mercy, even as I trust in thee!

Observe, my soul, what a bodyguard thou hast! As a prince is compassed about with soldiery, so art thou compassed about with mercy. Before and behind, and on all sides, ride these mounted guards of grace. We dwell in the center of the system of mercy, for we dwell in Christ Jesus.

O my soul, what an atmosphere dost thou breathe! As the air surrounds thee, even so does the mercy of thy Lord. To the wicked there are many sorrows, but to thee there are so many mercies that thy sorrows are not worth mentioning. David says, “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”

In obedience to this precept my heart shall triumph in God, and I will tell out my gladness. As thou hast compassed me with mercy, I will also compass thine altars, O my God, with songs of thanksgiving!

Yes! We that were saved by mercy must come before the Throne of mercy with songs of thanksgiving to our God who loves eternally Amen!!!…. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!

Our Father in heaven… we come through no other means than through the mercy of God… we ask that the Blood of Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary will not be in vain… show us mercy… let the sick be healed, the weak be made strong….Alleluia! Let those who are down be lifted in Jesus Name Amen!!! Praise the Lord!

Let us pray! Don’t forget to reach out to God with songs of Thanksgiving for the Undeserving Mercy extended to us … Amen… Alleluia
