December 25

Is Christmas day, is celebration time, la, la, la, la, la. Is someone singing and praising God? O what a wonderful day to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ – Immanuel – King of the whole universe. Before anything came to being He was.

We adore You, Baby Jesus, today is Your day, Happy Birthday to You. We welcome You into our abode, come and dwell in us.

Beloved, the Lord give us this month as a month of thanksgiving. If there is any other day to be thankful, it should be today, a day you were privileged to celebrate God in bodily form (Col 1:15). What a privilege indeed!

Beloved there is something we do unconsciously especially when we received a good news, got promoted, had a successful trip, had a grandchild, a child graduated from school, can you guess now?  Brethren, is a shout of PRAISE!

When the angel Gabriel told Mary that she will bear a son and also told her that her cousin Elizabeth is with a son. Immediately she got there, something extraordinary happened, both women went on singing and magnifying the Name of the Lord for the fulfillment of what God promised, even the baby in the womb leapt for joy! And today, we like them, shall sing of the goodness of God in our lives.

Merry Christmas dearly beloved. Follow me down to Bethlehem to behold the Christ of Christmas at the manger or better still in “your beloved heart”. Praise God in the highest!

And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. . . ”—Luke 1:46–47

Praise is the spontaneous response of a grateful child of God in His presence. The person who knows God and experiences Him intimately sings to the Lord with deepest praise! Mary was overwhelmed by the Lord’s goodness to her. In response she sang one of the most beautiful and profound songs of praise found in Scripture. Trying to stop the praise of a thankful heart would be like trying to arrest the flow of a mighty waterfall! God created us to praise Him; praise will be our activity when we are gathered around His throne in heaven.

You should never have difficulty thinking of reasons why God deserves your praise. You should enjoy the times you have to praise your Lord, both privately and publicly in worship. If your life is not filled with praise, it may be that you have lost your appreciation for God’s merciful activity in your life. Never forget what God has saved you from. Never take for granted what it means to have the assurance of eternity with God. Do not disregard the spiritual kinship you enjoy with other believers. Take time often to recount the blessings He has poured out upon you and your family.

As you contemplate the boundless love and mercy God has shown you, you will want to sing His praises as Mary did. Spontaneous praise is authentic praise. It does not have to be manipulated or orchestrated. It is a real and personal expression of a grateful heart and wonder-filled life that has encountered holy God!

Are you ready to sing and praise Baby Jesus? Do you know why you celebrate Christmas, dearly beloved? Come along with me in case you know, you can add more to what you have known already and peradventure you don’t know come with me and have a better information about it:

Who is Jesus Christ we celebrate?

He is Alpha and Omega (Rev 1:8).

He lives, was dead, and now alive forever more (Rev 1:18)

He is the Word Made Flesh (Gen 1:2; Jn 1:5; 14)

He is the Son of God (Matt 16:16)

He is the complete Image of God (Col 1:15)

He is the Creator of All Things (Col 1:16); our Redemption (Col 1:14)

He is the Star (Matt 2:2)

He is the Bread of Life (Jn 6:35)

He is the Living Water (Jn 4:6; Rev 21:6)

He is the Way, the Truth and Life (Jn 14:6)

He is the Light of Men (Jn 1: 4 &5)

He is the Door Life (Jn 10:9)

Unfortunately, the world knew not Who they celebrate, for if they do; they will not be promiscuous and going about naked, so many drinking themselves to stupor all in the name of Christmas celebration.

For Jesus said in Jn 4:23-24, for those who worship Him, will worship Him in Spirit and Truth for such His Father seek. Will you be one of them? Click here to accept Christ.

Let us pray:

Lord, today I celebrate Your truth. Thank You for the gift of life and love I find in knowing You. My Christmas gift to You is everything I am, everything I have, everything I hope to be in Jesus Name. Amen.
