Blessed be the Name of the Lord. You are Worthy to be Glorified Father, You Who sitted and Enthroned in heaven. The Earth is of the Lord and it fullness thereof. Beloveth, happy are they that knows their God for they will do exploits. In His Name every shall bow and every tongue confess that You are God. Every mountain skip at the Name of the Lord. The earth quake at the mention of His Name. Even the sea give way for the Lord at the mention of His Name (Ps 97:4-5; Ps 98:8).
In the bible there are many promises of what God will do for them that knows Him and trust in Him. So how well do you know your God?
Beloved, is so important that we discover Who God is in every circumstance in your life. Your life encounter determines which Names of God that is most sweetest to you.
Your experience of God will differ even from the closest person to you, and you cannot afford to live your life based on another’s experiences. Again, what can you say of God? In that situation where you no matter how difficulty it seems are you seeing God. What Name of God is coming to your mind? It is possible that it is not the popular name by which others knew Him that is what you have come to known Him now with.
Again, Who is God to you? there is this popular song that goes like this
You are more than what people called you, …some say you are good; some say you are kind. Dear reader, what are saying now that our God is?
As you walk with God daily, He will begin to manifest Himself to you. Don’t fail to fellow Him daily; don’t run to God when you seem danger (as little children do)and be flying in the air without fortified wings when the going becomes easier, you don’t know when a strong wind shall come and you will come clashing. Then God spoke to Moses, telling him, “I am Yahweh. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but I did not make My name Yahweh known to them.”—Exodus 6:2–3
As God has walked with His people through the generations, He has progressively revealed His nature according to His purposes and the needs of His people. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob knew Him as God Almighty, because they needed His mighty power to protect them from their enemies.
Moses and the Israelites learned that God was Lord, Master over every nation and every thing. God not only delivered them from the most powerful ruler in the world, but also brought them into the Promised Land. They came to experience Him as Lord, preeminently powerful over the pagan gods of their day.
God will continue to reveal His character to you according to your needs and according to His purposes. You will come to know more and more about Him as you obey Him. When you grieve, He will come to you as Comforter. When you are in need, He will demonstrate that He is the Provider. When you face a serious challenge, He will reveal that He is God Almighty.
Your understanding of God’s character ought to be greater now than when you first became a Christian. You ought to know Him today better than you did five years ago.
Sadly, some Christians continue to live year after year with the same basic knowledge of God that they had when they first began walking with him. Whatever your present situation, view it in the light of what God is teaching you, through circumstances, about Himself and you will come to know God in dimensions you have never known Him before.
The disciple came to know Christ better as they walked with Him. Our walks with God and His Son and the fellowship with Holy Spirit establishes our experiences in lives and these guarantee’s the dominion we possess in Him. Further discovers below:
“Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.” 1Thessalonians 1:4
Many persons want to know their election before they look to Christ, but they cannot learn it thus, it is only to be discovered by “looking unto Jesus.” If you desire to ascertain your own election;—after the following manner, shall you assure your heart before God.
Do you feel yourself to be a lost, guilty sinner? go straightway to the cross of Christ, and tell Jesus so, and tell Him that you have read in the Bible, “Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out.” Tell Him that He has said, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” Look to Jesus and believe on Him, and you shall make proof of your election directly, for so surely as thou believest, thou art elect.
If you will give yourself wholly up to Christ and trust Him, then you are one of God’s chosen ones; but if you stop and say, “I want to know first whether I am elect,” you ask you know not what. Go to Jesus, be you never so guilty, just as you are. Leave all curious inquiry about election alone. Go straight to Christ and hide in His wounds, and you shall know your election.
The assurance of the Holy Spirit shall be given to you, so that you shall be able to say, “I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to Him.” Christ was at the everlasting council: He can tell you whether you were chosen or not; but you cannot find it out in any other way.
Go and put your trust in Him, and His answer will be—”I have loved thee with an everlasting love, therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” There will be no doubt about His having chosen you, when you have chosen Him.
