Before we get into the teaching of today, I want share with you what I read this morning which I believe the Spirit of God wants you to benefits from.

It is difficult for a proud person to submit to authority, pride prevents submission because the proud person thinks so highly of himself/herself that he believes he should never have to submit to proper authority. He should never have to suffer the indignity and inconvenience of submission. The trouble with this attitude, however, is that it incurs the opposition of God. There is a reason that expression “Pride goes before a fall” base on Prov 16:18, is a commonly used, it is because it happens so often. Pride seems to be an attitude that spur God on to active opposition to prideful person

“But why?”  You might ask, why does God care so much about the attitude of the proud? The reason is that God is sovereign ruler of heaven and earth. Part of His rule is effectuated through His properly designated authorizes in various social institutions he has established. The proud person challenges the chain of command. In effect, he is opposing God’s Sovereign rule, and God does not sit idly by. Rather, He opposes the proud. Sooner or later there will be a fall.

Perhaps pride is a factor in your life, perhaps you worry that submission to authority will not work out well for you. The corrective to this concern, the Apostle Peter (1 Pet 5:5-7) tell us, is to cast your care on God, because He cares about you. The corrective is humble yourself before God instead of fighting against Him. The reward for the turnabout in attitude is the exact opposite of what the proud receive. Instead of a fall, there will be a lifting up. Instead of disfavor, there is favour. At the proper time, authority will be yours, and you will not have to struggle against God and man to get it.

Beloved, did you get something in the write-up above? You cannot show case God’s glory if you are proud. The work of the Holy Spirit is to form humility in us so that we will glorify God by the way we live our life.

The theme of this year must find expression in your life. God has put in measures to make you live as His child. Through the daily reading of scriptures and other anointed booked illuminated by the Holy Spirit like what we send out to you daily, we are to have our lives shaped into His glory.

Are you humbly enough to hear what the Spirit of God is showing you through the bible or you have a mind set and will only hear that which you want to hear.

Beloved, be available for the special touch of God through His teaching all through the year and you will not have any regret whatsoever.

Oftentimes we gratify our flesh because we resist the teaching of the Holy Spirit. But if we humbly ourselves before God we will build up our Spirit and you read early instead of disfavor you will obtain favour from God and instead of a fall you will find lifting.

The Divine Design

His word runs swiftly.—Psalm 147:15

When we come to God’s Word, laying aside all preconceived ideas and depending entirely on the Holy Spirit to reveal its truth to us, we put ourselves in a position where the Holy Spirit can impress the truth of the Scriptures into our innermost being. There it takes root within us, and whenever we stand in need of a word with which to rebut the Devil, the Holy Spirit brings it to our remembrance.

And here’s the most wonderful thing—the Word of God on our lips will have the same effect upon the Devil as if he were hearing it from the lips of Jesus Himself! Every time we open the Bible, we must be careful to pray for the illumination of the Spirit so that we don’t finish up making the Bible say what we want it to say. When we receive that help, we are following the divine design—letting the Spirit bring home to our hearts the truth and meaning of His own Word.

This attitude of humility and receptivity gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity He needs to build the truth of the Word of God into our spirits. Approaching the Bible in this way, said the late J. B. Phillips, “is like rewiring a house where the electricity has not been turned off.” As we read the Scriptures, we are touching something that has a current of power flowing through its pages—a power not put there by any man. The Holy Spirit has gone into it, so is it any wonder that the Holy Spirit comes out of it?

Prayer

My Father and my God, I know the Spirit dwells in Your Word. I come to ask that He might dwell also in me, to open up my whole being to the truth and power that lies in its inspired pages. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.
